Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

I still miss Stokely. Especially the store that was in there when I was a kid.
Agree. And I miss the museum in the Neyland-Thompson complex. Can't figure out why we haven't replaced that. There used to be more to do before a football game when I was a kid, between the Strip being functional, the museum, Stokley, etc.

I didn’t realize the museum was gone. That’s a shame.

Maybe this strip thing is gonna work. I’ve been a huge critic, but driving through the other day, there are a decent amount of new restaurants and businesses opening on the ground level. It was actually kind of cool to see how many students were around. There’s now a huge dining hall on one building.

I doubt we’ll ever see that many seedy bars and dives again, but oh well.

This is pre LNS 3.0. I’d rank them:
1) Miss St
2) Arkansas
3) LSU
4) Ole Miss
5) UT
6) SC

Prior to the renovation, UT was next to last (only one worse was Mizzou) so 5th out of 16 in the SEC is huge.
Not sure why anybody gives a damn what that pervert Chris Phillips thinks, anyways

If this is based on LNS after renovations, then there is an enormous gap between 10 and 11, because Kentucky Proud Park is pretty mid. No character, just an OK facility with limited seating (2500 seats). They claim capacity at 7000, but it requires sitting/standing on concrete (no seating) and their berms.

On any given day, any of those top 5 can be the greatest environment in college baseball.

We need to plan a general meeting area to try to see Brian at the home opener. Hey, @Ned Land will you be attending? Been praying for you.
Update: Home from New York 😵‍💫 Sorry I've been so out of pocket. I will be there tomorrow. Maybe just 3 innings but it was a goal to be there so I'm going to be there. As far as how I'm doing nobody seems to know. I realize it makes no sense but I can't even summarize it well. I posted about it at the above link. I should know next Wednesday if I'm cooked or if I'm getting surgery that could buy me a number of years. My seat is 212 row 3 seat 3. It's the first row of the upper section of the grandstand.

Dang. I hate to hear about the setback but am praying for the best case scenario! I'll stop by and say hello before the game tomorrow. I firmly believe a nice day at the ballpark has healing properties!

I‘m two sections over from you. 214 row 8, seat 9. I will be there. I’ll step down to the walkway below 212 before the game. Will be great to see you. Hey, my wife’s best friend‘s husband thought he was cooked. Everything was on Caringbridge. 6 years later he is still doing great. He lives in Kingsport, but we saw hIm 2 weeks ago, and he is doing great. Looking forward to meeting. Just know you have some great friends who haven’t met you yet, but we all love and care about you.

I will say that I’ve never seen so few tickets available on Ticketmaster for opening day. I think the fans are hungry for the future. Lots of anticipation. I loved Tony, even over Danny, and quite easily actually. Elander is our guy, and THIS is our team!

I'm as jacked up for this season as always. For better or worse, I'll enjoy another season of Vol baseball with enthusiasm.

Prayers up. I hope you get good news on Wednesday! Look forward to meeting you tomorrow! Let’s kick cancer’s arse!

is anyone else a little underwhelmed? Its obviously a huge upgrade over og Lindsey Nelson, but it doesn't look as nice as what was in the concepts. The new suite level looks a tad tacky to me and I'm surprised that they didn't use all glass for the exterior of that section like the architectural renderings.

Very excited for tomorrow. Took quite some time for me to adjust to the post-Tony era last year, but Tony built something sustainable. I think even with his absence, fans are excited to follow this team and the seeing the future of the program remaining in the upper tier of college baseball.

Going to be a fun year.

Very excited to get the season going and follow this team. I don’t think we see a drop off with the program and Elander is just the right guy to keep it going.

However, it will be kinda weird to not see Tony in the dugout tomorrow, especially given the stadium is done. Just feels off not having him there for the opening of the house that he built.
