How difficult can it be to color match red clay dirt?

My ideas are probably old as dirt. But in truth, they're more out of Frank Lloyd Wright.

It seems to me that a "home field" should have dirt on it that looks like the dirt in that region. Tennessee's field should look like it belongs in eastern Tennessee.

Georgia's field should look like red clay.
Florida's and Southern Mississippi's fields should look more like sandy, scrub soil.
Vandy's field should look like soul-less concrete (or crushed, Late Ordovician limestone).

Alabama might be the exception. For baseball, I don't think you can make primordial ooze drain well enough.

Our infield looks the way it does because it was state of the art when it was done and we were one of the very first to get it. There were very few options on colors back then. When you get the newest and best, the options are lower.
