Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

Relationships are everything to the Italian culture. If it were about money, Tony would still be here. With taxes and cost of living, he's keeping significantly less of his money now. And I'll never buy that the Giant's job was a dream job for him.
Bingo. It’s a BS narrative that college coaches are longing to coach in the majors. They aren’t.

Talking about Lindsey Nelson, my grandson's 14U travel team (Knoxville Stars) played a game at that fine venue this past Sunday. While only about 100 folks were in the stands it was still electric to us and them. He played SS and remarked how bouncy the turf was but in the same breath he said he LOVED it, LOL. He drills a double and a couple RBI's in the attached vid.
Sound really carries in that venue.

It's interesting they put carpet over the dirt mound for the games

I wonder how long the donors that live well out of town will keep buying season tickets?

I know many consider this throw-away money but I got to believe they won't do this forever, even if the program stays at a high level and especially if they have 1 or so down seasons.

If so, the stadium will likely start looking full more often as more locals (like myself) buy the tickets.

This is very evident with the porches. They were packet every game but rarely did that happen in 2026. The UTAD still gets the money whether they come or not, but it still looks better when the seats are filled.

I swear the porches and 4Topps drove me insane. I've wanted to do a porch for years. Literally, just once. Get 20 people together, run the grill, live it up for one game. To see them sit empty or with 2 or 3 people on them for game after game and even the biggest weekend games... It just sucks.

I know UT has the money and couldn't care less what someone does with them but it still sucks. I appreciate the guys out there at the 4Topps finally just putting SRO people in them after the 4th most games so they weren't empty.

I hope there's some correction to the market like you said. The rotating cast of characters next to my seats gets old. Some are fine, some are awful.

I Do miss walking up to the ticket booth, on a whim, and buying a ticket. When the AD announces all home game tickets are sold out prior to the season, lots of folks stop trying. OTOH, LNS needed a face lift and that helps pay for it, I suppose.

Nice. You have a slugger on your hands.

I'd wager that not hosting this year will cause some not to renew.

Not lying. Struggling whether to renew at $2,250 for the limited number of games I attend personally. As most of you know, I give my weekdays away and most of the weekends I don't go. But I usually have been able to get some money back but this year I had weekend games, even big games, that I could not even sell for what I consider a reasonable amount.

The fact that they make you pay for season tickets at all - after everything Kirby's done for this program - is a travesty IMO. You and he both deserve to have them comped for life

Almost all mid week games some guy was out front with paper tickets for sale to the porch area. $25 usually.

This is the assumption that everything can be boiled down to dollars. Not everything can be measured in money. You’re literally being a good little Danny Dimes minion to say such things. Tony leaving had NOTHING to with his salary. I’m not even saying Danny was THE reason, but if anyone thinks that there wasn’t tension, they aren’t listening. Chris Lowe doesn’t just arbitrarily report that stuff. When the door is opened a crack, it’s a lot easier to push it open.

As seen by the entertainment district, Danny will build **** even when completely unnecessary. If you think that stadium was about Danny giving Tony something, you’re crazy. It doesn’t take a genius to pay him. It didn’t take a genius to see the long overdue need to upgrade the stadium. In true Danny fashion he built it with more areas that are off limits to the common fan. Hell, 80% of the improvements were to further displace common fans, and move the uppity ups out of the smell of the peasants.

It doesn’t matter, you aren’t going to believe that there was a path to Tony staying. There absolutely was, and Danny White was 100% a contributor in that not happening.

Thank the Lord someone else on here knows the truth 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Several SEC teams have always done it. We have had MVP seat people call in that we’re watching on TV and have people moved out of their seats. So I don’t see it happening.
