Let's temper our comments towards Dooley

Being unkind, ugly and rude is unkind, ugly and rude no matter the situation. If, as so many on here act, Dooley actually works for the fans, how many of you have been heckled and called out as imcompetent and unworthy of being the water boy by your employer or supervisor? And if so, how long did it take him to get up off the floor after you decked him?

We would be fired and so will he.

Something tells me Jon Gruden is not one to get his feelings hurt easily. He would not need mama to speak for him and let everyone know just how tough it is in college football. You make Dooley sound like he is a fragile 13 year old overweight girl. Just because he coaches like one, does not mean he is.

"Don't be mean to Dooley, We love him". :eek:lol:
That's BS. I never said it wasn't kosher to call a spade a spade...but there is no call for acting like a Bamer and showing your hairy arse in public. In fact if I were at the game and I catch you hazing him, with his family near by...you better have your dental insurance squared away.

He's took the negativity from the fans. He knows some of the fan base is done with him. He hasn't made one public comment about the fan base. I'm not sure where people get the whole idea "if he can't take it." This ain't got **** to do with can he take it. He's taken it and hasn't said one word about it. That's what me of character do. When they fail, they can take the criticism. Some of the comments made on here make it seem like he's losing on purpose. Get over your self. People talk about him like he's a dog or something. For what? He tried. It didn't work. No need to bash him. Question his abilities all you want but put him down like he's a piece of crap? Really? He hasn't won any big games but he has kept this program from falling any further down the drain. Hire somebody that can get us over the hump. Be done with it. Move on. Nothing to see here. Kicking a guy while he's down would be the easy thing to do. Be men folks. Were better than that. We are still UT. No one man is bigger than the program.

I find it funny that he has made a career blaming the fans and players, being an ass to the media, and an overall pompous ass to anyone who would listen....and I'm supposed to feel sorry for him.

I've had to watch 3 years of the worst football I've ever seen, he can stand to take a name or two.

Two words........

My friend I am a professional. I was a floor manager at one of the largest Honda dealerships in the U.S. when I lived in L.A. Before I worked my way up to that position and was just a simple salesman I took all sorts of verbal abuse from customers, floor managers, desk managers, finance managers, and the general manager. There were days I felt like I was someone's red headed step child.

But being I was determined to prove every person that criticized or belittled me at my job wrong...that I was better than that...or listened to what they were saying about my job performance and make myself a better professional because of it.....I did just that. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! I can handle jokes and criticism...I don't wear a skirt...no one walks on egg shells for me either...I'm a grown @$$ man and if I dish it out I can take it back when it is given to me bro.

If Dooley wants to shut people up....he should go out and win some football games that mean something....instead of being ZERO for a career against ranked teams.

We have a true hero fellas. Perfect to a T and is allowed to bash anyone as much as he wants because he's proved it on the Internet.

I take my punches when needed. Hard to swallow sometimes. I find that when dealing with others it's sometimes best to approach with caution, heart and a humble attitude. I treat others how I want to be treated.

If given a choice I would rather be the guy who kept his mouth tempered rather than the person crying foul and looking like Nancy Grace. Wisdom and patience do not come from rude and constant complaining. JMHO.

P.s. I don't think car salesman tatics are a perfect example of success no matter how you spin it.

Not old enough to remember the birth of the TB Bucs?

I'm not sure why the size of someone's paycheck is a justification for treating that person like dirt.

I think the basic point of the OP is that regardless of how much the other guy makes, you all are acting like *******s. No matter what happens with Dooley, I'd like to avoid having our fanbase represented by a bunch of *******s.

I would point out that NOONE knows that anything was said to Dooleys kids/family. It was stated on a call in show that "ya know what I heard". Sure, it may have happened. Who knows. Your talking about 100,000 people in 1 place and a large portion of them are drunk. If you don't want your kids/family to hear something they may not like, don't allow them to attend. People could be more careful in what they say, but it is well within their right to say it. This is something that the United States allows.

Flame On!!

Someone questioned if I ever had to handle being bashed at my job...publicly scrutinized on the job...so I explained myself. Why are you being a D!<K newbie? That was lame bro....now since you personally bashed me why don't you start personally bashing the rest of the VolNation that think Dooley needs to go? Since you are so much more holier than thou.

P.s. I don't think car salesman tatics are a perfect example of success no matter how you spin it.
Typical comment I would expect from someone that has know idea of the car sales business. You sir are exactly proving my point of the post you thought you were making fun of at my expense. Before I moved back to Tennessee to be near my father that has health issues I was making a 6 figure income out there.....I don't care what you think of the car business newbie poster....because I always got the last laugh when I watched smart @$$ people like you drive off and counted the money I made on you when you drove off the lot tough guy.

P.S. Whenever I would get someone like you that would take pop shots at me being in the car business...then you fill out your credit application...the desk manager, finance manager, and myself would make fun of your income...because after all the attitude and condesending comments from folks like you none of you ever made anywhere near as much money as us.

I don't like being like that...but when someone is implying they are better than me for my choice of career...if we ever compared pay stubs you would keep your mouth shut...kind of like you were talking about in your shot post at me.

Grab a napkin newbie...you just got served.

I wouldn't openly heckle him in front of family. I honest think he has a likeable personality, but he's not gettin the job done. It's time to part ways and start a new era.

"Soccer mom leaving angry posters bloodied and more angry"

Oh well. Maybe it might do them some good to realize how wrong it is to beat a man when he's down. Might make them think twice before doing it to someone else.

I know. It's pointless though. My thoughts about why people do it or why people get off on seeing others fail has been posted several times.

Thanks for the pearls of infinite wisdom! Yes, I see it now. The light is finally starting to dim and I can see things from a whole new perspective. Dooley stole your 5 million dollars, which if I were you, I would be upset too. And clearly there is a written rule somewhere that says if you make a lot of money, you should use some of that cheese to buy bigger shoulders to carry the extra stress from pig vomit fans who have nothing better to do than b_tch about losing football games. The sad thing is, most over indulgent fans believe they are entitled to act like complete a-holes just because someone is making a lot of money. At the end of the day, people are still people. Money doesn't make them any more resilient. Ever think about that?
Nail-Meet hammer :good!:

Dooley is and has been in over his head. Nothing more....nothing less.
Agreed I think he has given it his all. Just hasn't been close to enough. There are only a few elite head coaches in college and most of them coach in our conference. No need to hate the guy for sucking.

Well I have no reason to attack him personally. He's done what I expected of him given his history and experience. he came in stabilized the program and refilled the roster. When he was hired I considered him a long-term interim instead of the guy that would lead us back to the top. Now that he has accomplished what I expected of him and nothing more its time for him to go.
BUT at the same time I will point out facts to all the doolaid drinkers. So when I say he is a loser I'm not talking about him as a person but rather the fact that his overall record as a HC is a losing record. So as a HC he is a loser, but as a person he is a good guy as far as I know.

As most anyone who has seen my posts over the past year knows (since the loss to KY), I've been one who has wanted to cut the cord, and get the HC'ing hire right....sooner, rather than later. I knew Hamilton had gotten us into a mess, hiring a prospect who had no measure of success to commend him to a job of this magnitude. Nevertheless, all the way up to the Bama game, I truly hoped Dooley could break through and prove us all wrong. Before the season started, I actually thought he had the talent to mask his shortcomings as a HC.

Had he been able to hold onto Wilcox, Peter Sirmon and Thompson, I still think he would have pulled it off. Losing to KY was the tipping point. Any how, I say all of that to make this point. Dooley tried, and it's time to move on....most of us agree on that. But please folks, during this time, let's not show our arses by making cruel, disparaging remarks and heckling the guy and his family at games. Let's show a little grace and act with a little dignity in this process.

Even though he is going to be financially rewarded for failing, it still has to be a gut wrenching experience for him and his family. We wouldn't want folks doing this to us, when we happen to fall short of a goal or expectation in our own lives. Let's temper our actions and comments from here on out...agreed?

Who are the 55 idiots that liked this post?

Doofus is a multi-millionaire for making my football team a laughing stock. Heckle the hell out of him!

So, what does that put us at? 50-50? 60-40? Whatever. Things remain the same. Some folks want a different coach, some folks think Dooley should be given a 4th year. Put it this way, was it right to oust Fulmer? Some say yes, and some say no. Same situation. Put it this way, the single most important thing UT needs right now is stability. No matter the record, if coach Dooley and this team are given a vote of confidence by the fans and the admin, it should highly reflect on recruiting. What else it may reflect upon is whom come's back next year. Can you imagine what type of team we will have if all of our horses return next season.

Everybody blames Dooley. Perhaps our situation demanded that we not hire a so called winner (kiffin), but one that would build an SEC team, with character, and give him time for a bit of OJT in the SEC. As far as I'm concerned, Dooley is doing it. Our D regressed this year, as what most everybody expected. Our O improved this year, beyond expectations. With one more year, 2 more linebackers, and get our young, speedy D back in tune,,,Dooley and Sunseri might shock all the negavols.

No matter what happens with Dooley if he stays or if he goes, UT's SEC record will most assuredly affect recruiting...no young athlete wants to committ to a known loser... on the fans and media hot seat...would you?

I agree with it all except I still think, DD is the man we need, he has mad lots of progress with our team!!! When Kiff left we were down to the bottom of the Sec in all phases of the game and now we are close to the top of the East!!!:peace2:

Uh excuse me, close to the top of the east, we don't have an SEC win....where have you been....what are you on?
sorry but your speaking out your....

Do all of you people who say Dooley is a great man know him personally or something? To us as fans he is nothing more than a football coach, and a bad one at that. I don't agree with heckling his family, but I don't know anything about the man except his 0 for whatever against ranked teams. He is no different than any other coach with a losing record!
