Let's talk about Kentucky for a while

Like I told one of my UK “educated” cousins....you can never judge Kentucky on the first half of the season. They always implode late.

He’s mad at me now

While Heupel’s offense isn’t the exact same as Leach’s, Heup was influenced by Leach and has said himself that they incorporate some Air Raid passing concepts. He should be able to take some of what MSU did and implement it into Tennessee’s gameplan. As another poster pointed out, spreading Kentucky out on defense exposes them.

On defense, stop the run and make Levis beat you with his arm.

Tennessee owes Kentucky for what happened in Neyland last season. But there’s no JG to gift them TDs. I wanna see a whippin put on em.

I see an offensive explosion for us. This uk team got ranked high by beating a overhyped Florida team who is about to lose some coaches because they have no identity on offense and their D is undisciplined. UK can’t stop what Heup is gonna throw at them.

On D, uga showed the blueprint for shutting them down and Miss st improved on it. Uk isn’t going to be able to play a lot of ball control. I see a lot of 3 and outs for them.
A Florida team that we weren't able to beat! SMH

The announcers pointed out that Kentucky D had their hands on the hips early in the 4th and they were not running close to the pace we run. As long as the secondary holds up I think we can tire them out and extend the lead in the 4th.

SEC road games are always tough. They will certainly pack the house and make it loud.

If we can not turn the ball over, stop the run, and get our run game going we smoke them.

Otherwise it’s a tight game.

Kentucky’s QB showed he gets frustrated easily so if we can slow or stop the run making him throw the ball I think we end up on the plus side for turnovers.

I’m glad we had a bye week to get healthy too.

If up to me, MSU’s QB, Will Rogers would be SEC player of the week. Maybe Kentucky isn’t as bad as they seemed. This kid had a phenomenal game. CJH had an off week to watch film and Mike Leach just gave him a roadmap.
Let's not forget that Miss State got 4 turnovers. For whatever reason, those are game killers, plus the Miss State QB setting an SEC record 36/39 passing percentage breaking Josh Dobbs' record. Those turnovers were devastating to KY; sure was great to see Stoops almost have a cardiac, thought he was gonna break an artery. LOL.

I think I would be much more into us winning if this was in Knoxville. Night game in Lexington, I don't see us winning big, but see us having a better than 50% chance to win this one. If we can limit turnovers and play good on special teams. I just don't see their offense driving on us, but it is at their home, so I don't think their offense will be as inept as it was in Starkville.

After watching Kensucky play MS State last night, I'm very encouraged that we will get the W next week.

I was at KY-MSU. Tennessee wins. The only area State struggled in offensively was trying to run outside. Evans and Small will be able to get chunk plays inside, the passing game should flourish as well. UK struggled offensively all night. Their only offensive TD was the result of a busted coverage.

I would agree as long as Evans and Small are 100 percent healthy.

If yall noticed in the 4th quarter most of the Ky d line had pretty clean spotless white jerseys. In other words, the first team d was worn out..............they are very big and fat ! IF WE CAN MAKE SEVERAL THIRD DOWN CONVERSTION WE WILL WIN. If not , I am afraid it will be a long night for the Vols. Ky is hard to beat at home, at night !!!! We must keep our d off the field and convert third down on offense !!!!
