Injuries were an issue all year in 2016. Not blaming injuries for either one of those losses, but no injuries might have made a difference. New S&C coach this year will hopefully fix that. So no injury excuses.

No Hurd drama. Who knows how much, if at all, that contributed to the debacle at SC. Won't have that as excuse.

New QB won't be staying up late studying fawking Rocket Science. Possible he could be even better than Dobbs. Can you offer any logical explanation as to why he absolutely won't?

Butch could lose every damn game next season, except those two. He's got them! They're gimmes. If he loses either or both, I was wrong. If he wins them, you were. One way or another, one of us gets a fawking Bozo button for being right. If it's you, I will hunt you down and present it to you on one knee and thank you for allowing me to be in your almighty presence.

Vandy is an inferior program and is a gimmie game. They were a gimmie game last year as well.

SC is an inferior program that was elevated by Spurier and is in a downward spiral (same goes for the gators unless the can get a better coach). They were a gimmie game last year too.

Don't you hold it against CBJ for losing to there inferior teams.

Will you hold it against him as well this year if he loses to these inferior teams.

Even tho they are both gimmie games it does not guarantee a win.

It don't matter the coach, some teams are just gimmie games based off their circumstance.

He came thru against Fl, Ga and VTech. He beat SC when they were good and we were not that good.

If you only highlight the bad every coach looks like a choke job.

CBJ has made plenty of mistakes many have cost us wins, but they have all been in an effort to win games. Sometimes he goes with his gut and it backfires and other times he goes with the plan and it backfires.

I will. If he doesn't go to Atlanta this year, my optimistic ass is done. I don't even care what his record is.

To clarify, if he loses to Vandy and SC, I'm sure we've already lost the East at that point.

Every Vol fan will. I can see us going 10-2 and not winning the east.

Florida is getting worse but Ga will be better(They just have to be.).

Nah SC should be in the mix of who wins the east, same goes for Vandy.

You can't help being optimistic, it's in your blood.

So a gimme game is not a guaranteed win and teams that beat us last time we played are inferior programs making them gimme games. Sorry man, makes no sense whatsoever.

You didnt effect at all, just dont ever get smarta $$ answers from you thats all. And you proved my point that they are not gimme games because the chance of losing is just as good losing. To me a gimme game is a game where we can play/ coach our worst and is still highly likely that we win the game usually based solely on superior talent alone...In St., UMass, S. Miss and probably Mizzu.

My answers really weren't meant to be "smartass", there was just no better way to say it. Everyone around here likes to base everything on "records" "resumes"and "history ". Up until this year, both Vandy and SC we're considered "gimmes" by most. Me included. Past records against them back that up.

I don't give Butch a "pass" for either loss, not even close. Please don't turn this into that, because I don't! But, although I don't think Butch is a Championship coach, I just don't see him losing to either this year, and I gave you my honest explanations on that.

I laughed a little. I would almost consider Florida more of a sure win than Vandy. I think we beat USC too. But im not sure about VU. CbJ got a 2-2 record against Vandy.

I consider "gimmes" football BS'ing. I don't think any team is an actual sure win. I guess it's just against my "religion" to be worried about Vandy. Lol. Silly or not.

Wish I felt the same about Florida. Don't matter how bad they suck, they scare the shat outta me. Fawkers.

I was mostly just having fun with that other post, but it was also my honest feelings on them both.

There are no guaranteed wins.

Fluke games happen every year. We had 5 last year. It takes a perfect storm for Vandy to beat Tn. Was it a fluke when Memphis beat us? Was it a fluke when Ole Miss beat bama? LSU and UAB? Vandy and Ga? Michigan and App St? Bama and La Monroe? Ky and Us? SC and Tn?

There are no guarantee wins.
