Iowa was terrible that year. Northwestern was ranked (but hadn't played a tough schedule, still a nice W though).

I despise Kiffin too, but never rule anything out in college coaching. He's getting a good HC job this year (Houston/Oregon) or next. I also find Briles' actions to be reprehensible, but I bet he gets a job soon too.

Of the young coaches I think he'd be perfect. Only 40 years old. He's got South Florida to 10-2 and a solid program. They gave FSU all they could handle this year.

He's also a former Harbaugh assistant at Stanford (like Derek Mason) who I wouldn't mind coaching here as well.

He's got Vanderbilt giving everyone in the SEC all they can handle with 2 and 3 star talent.

Imagine what he could do with our defensive talent?

After reading many many articles on this board I cannot imagine anyone, yes I said anyone, wanting to coach at Tennessee. If you will be honest that is why we have Butch Jones. After several turned it down, he took it. Yes, this is coming from a Tennessee alumni and supporter for 58 years. It is absolutely impossible for anyone to satisfy Tennessee fans. Tennessee will never be an Alabama and we might as well accept the fact. I have been waiting for it to happen 58 years.

The above quoted post not only comes from a Tennessee alumni and supporter of 58 years, but also from a poster who is clueless in realizing what the term fanatic entails, that in fact, every big name school in the country operates in the same fashion, as every single big time college and pro team fan base operates. Fans want... Wait for it... Wins. Fans wants wins. They want to be successful. It's shocking I know. Fortunately, coaches understand this. They understand they get canned for not winning big games, too many upset losses or just flat out not winning enough.

What is it wanting Dan Mullen. He has a 60-42 record. Thats worse than Butch. Hes only won more than 8 games twice since 2009. I mean im as disappointed as anyone but the grass isnt always greener on the other side no matter how you want to spin it. Nick Saban has a bad récord after 4 years at Michigan state. I know needs to be changes but im just not sure head coach is it. Everybody on this board wanted Charlie Strong and look what he did at Texas,FIRED. Everybody wants everyone else coach because they think hes better then 5 yrs down the road you figure out that they were all wrong. Look guys we are all disappointed but it could be worse.

man give me a hungry Charlie Strong all day!!!he didn't fit in the big 12..he is more of a sec or acc style of football coach..he defenses are not built that those offenses out there in the big 12..give me Charlie strong and we will have a championship defense..we need an identity and this team do not have one..
