Lebron vs. Jordan

At age 25, Jordan averaged 35 ppg and was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Lebron will likely finish around the 30 ppg mark and average around 7 or 8 rpg and 8 or 9 apg. He also could win defensive player of the year.

Kobe is a far better shooter and absurdly better defender.

You put a lot of emphasis on the ability to shoot...I ask, what does it matter? 30 points is 30 points.

Kobe, like Jordan is an overrated defensive player...Pippen had the chore of manning up Reggie and any other elite scorer, not Jordan.

I don't know why we are comparing Jordan to Lebron when Kobe is a closer comparision to MJ. How are you going to compare a guy like Lebron to the greatest player in history when he is currently not even the best player in the league?

That might change in 5-10 years and then a comparison can be made but not right now.

Kobe is barely in the top 5 at this point.

Wrong. When we're trying to talk about the best ever, it's a different animal. Again, he needs special rules to make him offensively strong. The other guys don't or didn't.

We're talking about who you'd pick first to build a team around. LeBron isn't that guy.

What about the Jordan rules? If your going to sit and say that Jordan didn't get every call imaginable, you need to return to your coloring book.

Young Kobe was great, but vastly overrated.

Not in terms of offensive skill set. At LeBron's age, he was the top 4th quarter choice for shots and he was their defensive stopper.

That's ludicrous. Every GM in the league would choose Kobe to build around, unless he's worried about down the road.

You know this how?

I would take LeBron, Durant, Wade over Kobe anyday.

Usually you build around a big man, but in this debate I think you build around Lebron at this point. What is odd about this whole thing is I like Kobe way more than Lebron.

Did he have a choice? Look at the team around him then.

What difference does it make? Nobody cared about Shaq in the fourth. Post Shaq, he's just fine.

Everybody knew those were Shaq's teams. He was by far the number 1 option with Kobe a distant 2nd. After Shaq is when Kobe took off.

You'd lose.

Your obviously a LeBron hater, it's cool...but your delusional if you think any GM would take a 31 year old ( who's body is much older than that ) over James, Durant, Wade.

It's stupid to pretend that Jordan got or needed more ref help than LeBron. LeBron can't rise up and hammer the jumper. Has to drive and needs the threat of the foul call to keep lanes open.

Durant is somehow underrated, I guess it is where he is located...Durant is the leagues best scorer...he is unreal, only 21.

I don't hate LeBron. I just don't buy the media gibberish about the guy. If LeBro is Jordan or Kobe, Orlando doesn't send the packing early last year.

Until he defends and shoots a better percentage, he'll keep losing. Guy is talented, but playoff ball isn't going to agree with him.

No it isn't. Kobe was always the first option late. Always. Kobe was tge best plaer in the league while shaq was out there.
