Lebron James future

Has Lebron played his last game at the Q in a Cavs jersey?

He does have that kind of money but there is a salary cap, they couldn't pay him that much money.
Figure of speech. IIRC Lebron's max possible salary this next season will be in the high 17mil's, and you can rest assured he'll be getting every penny of it.

You should probably not post on a NBA thread due to your colossal amount of ignorance.

How about coming stronger with some drivel about how the Nicks are going to return to prominence with "Well, the Celtics did it!" as your basis?

Look at the trends. Salary cap be damned, the large markets are still the typical power players in the NBA. The Nicks are, but the fact is your team's front office has been in disarray for years now and even if they did get LBJ, I seriously doubt it will be any more successful than what Cleveland has had the last few years.

As Hat said, with Prokhorov coming in the league and the Nets pending move to Brooklyn, the Nicks are about to take a permanent backseat in the NY market to the Nets. That is until the entire organization gets new faces from the top down.

The Knicks were in disarray, but Dolan quit his coke habit and got rid of his coke buddy Zeke as well. This off-season has been three years in the making. The Cavs will try to match NY's offer, but they will not have the cap room or a draft pick to push them into the finals.
NY has been recruiting Lebron and Bosh for sometime. If Lebron stays in Cleveland it will be out of a sense of loyalty and not money or championships. NY will still go after Bosh and probably D Wade and re-sign Lee.
The Russian's money will do nothing for the nets. Paul Allen has his money, what's he got in return?

By the way, ignorance again. NY has new faces from the top down. Dolan is the only constant and he's never been involved in player personnel.

I truly hope that the Knicks efforts have all been for not and they don't get any of the big 3...I can see it happening and them settling for Joe Johnson...wouldn't that be funny.

I think the expression is "all for naught" and no, that would not be funny.

You are correct, it is all for naught...lol.

Anyway, I think Knicks fans should be very apprehensive about this summer.

I'm really looking forward to this summer. There's enough players to go around. The only bummer for us Knick fans is no draft pick thanks to Zeke.

With a draft pick you guys would easily win the title.:)

I would love to see him stay in Cleveland he's an ohio boy. I heard some guy this am talking about this, to make a coach change, and bring somebody else aboard. They mentioned Phil Jackson coming to town, i dont see that happening. If he ends up in New York, you think he will make more than anyone has ever made in the NBA?

I'd like to see a John Wall, Lebron, and Bosh team.

That would be stout...wishful thinking...I honestly think that getting 2 of the big 3 is wishful thinking.

Not saying it will not happen but I think it is unlikely.

I think the Knicks would be better off just getting one of them and using the rest of their money on players to compliment whoever they get.

I could see Phil going back to New York ( he played there )...he wouldn't make more than anyone else...being a player that has under 10 year experience, the most that he could make next year is 17,310,000.

A scary rumor is Lebron leveraging for Calipari to replace D'Antoni. Phil is not coming back as long as any Dolan owns the team. If we can take Dolan at his word and Walsh has complete control, Calipari will not be there and he can call Lebron's bluff.
The Knicks have been drafting and signing complimentary players to Lebron the last two years. Signing him and Bosh is not only possible, its likely. The only casualty may be not being able to sign Lee and he possibly signs with Heat to satisfy D Wade.
Regardless, its going to be a fun summer.

I'm not sure what complimentary players you are talking about.

If the Knicks were smart they would go after James or Wade and try and retain Lee, he isn't as good as Bosh but he puts up pretty similar numbers and plays better defense, plus you could get him for less than a max which is what Bosh will go for.

I completely agree. Even though he's a Gator he brings it every game and Bosh has been known to disappear at times.

There is not a snowballs chance in hell that Wade will sign with the Knicks.

I already think the Nets are a solid squad despite the record. They're a few things away from being a legit contender for years.
A)A wealthy owner-check
B)A bright young superstar-check(assuming they get Wall)
C)A wealthy owner-check

If they get Lebron they'll be even further ahead of the curve. I still think they'll throw everything at Cal. We'll see how that turns out.

The Nets are to the Knicks as the Mets are to the Yankees as the Clippers are to the Lakers.

If NY doesn't sign Lebron, plan b is to sign Amare and sign Chris Paul next year.

I'm sure most Eastern Conference GM's wouldn't be too concerned over this.
