Leavitt to LSU

Screw it, just go all in on defense and roll with what we have. I’m tired of us wasting resource trying to bid on these QB’s. View attachment 806286

I completely agree. I’d feel MUCH worse had we missed on him and all of the defensive studs in the portal, but we swept the guys that Knowles wanted. Keep building up that defense. Even if we have an average qb we’ve shown that a strong defense can get you to the finish line.

Having another coach fly into your city, post it online, then take a QB that is in your campus, is a horrible look. Explain it away, but it’s bad optics.

I agree. But on the other hand LSU is going to dump money like crazy to make sure that the coach they went all in for succeeds. This had little to do with coaching philosophy and a lot to do with $$$$$. As does everything in the current college landscape.

Heupel knows that by firing his DC and having him fall on th sword that it bought Heupel another year to have terrible record and get a free pass. Heupel isn't worried about what happens next year. prepare for 5 or 6 losses. Tennessee is "rebuilding" yet again. like we always seem to be

Respectfully disagree. Had he hired a no name DC or promoted Inge I’d be on your side, but they went out and got a proven DC AND dropped the money to get the kids he wanted. Heupel is coaching for his job the next two seasons and he knows it, but I don’t think he’s stalling.

What you talking bout Willis?

I’ll explain. Kiffin is an arrogant a$$hole that has not changed as some of us thought since he left USC. Any other coach in the FBS wouldn’t do that as far as posting on social media. He will be the most hated coach in America and LSU will be the most hated team. I hope ESPN loses its obsession with him.

he's definitely coaching for his job but he will have a built in excuse next year. "the defense is being rebuilt". unless Heupel pulls a Butch Jones and loses all his SEC games, there's no way he gets fired next year and half of me believes even if he did lose all his SEC games he still wouldn't get fired.

If he drops 6 games next year I think he will lose the fanbase and the boosters/donors. If that happens he’s toast. The only reason that ADs fire coaches is because there’s the legit threat of money no longer coming in.

Leavitt never committed to Heuple so he didn't lose him. He had too many deals out there to consider. He probably was going to the highest bidder. Kiffin is a schmoozer and a liar, Heuple is not. Some on here would be calling for Heuples hanging if he signed him and he was never 100%, which is very possible. So he cannot win with some of you no matter what he does.

I don't really see this as the catastrophic loss some are making this out to be.

if he drops 6 games he makes a bowl I do not think he loses his job over that after completely rebuilding the defensive staff.

will people be pissed? sure. but people are pissed when we lose 3 games and miss the playoff or lose 4 games and lose to Vandy.
