Lawn Mower Suggestions

I promise from experience, do not get a Husqvarna, especially from Lowes. You had mentioned early about not liking an uneven cut and having to mow twice. With the Husqvarna I always had to mow at least twice to get a clean cut.

Did you verify your deck was level from the blade ends?

It was a ZTR. I mentioned earlier in this thread about Scag. Absolutely love my Scag now. It has a perfect cut, runs smooth, never had any problems, and American made.

I went larger and used. I can use it to mow the big area and use my push mower around the house and flower beds.

John Deere 855 compact tractor with a front end loader and finishing mower. It's a 3 cyl. diesel with 4 wheel drive. If I am not pleased with the way it mows, we have a few acres that I can use it to play around on and go buy one of the Husqvarna 24 hp 48". I may still do that in a week or so. I've been wanting one of the compact tractors for a while to use around the farm.

Thanks for all the replys and advise on mowers

Excellent choice gramps. I'm going same route. Ill go a couple sizes larger. As I have 15 aces to manage along with all the critters, pond, and such.

Congrats on purchase. Do you mind if I ask for a rough cost on the unit?

$6,500.00. From what I have saw online that is a good buy. Of course I may be looking at the wrong places.

No that sounds real good. Is it a belly mower on it or pull behind?
The loader will come in real handy. I'm looking to pick up a roto-tiller as well.

Great choice and great deal. You will be amazed at all the things you will use the tractor for.

It is a pull behind finishing mower.
Yes the loader will come in handy.

Husqvarna YT46LS - Garden tractors

I picked up one of these yesterday. I was very pleased with my first mowing with it.

Toro, or Husky[

The 22" Husqvarna push mower with a Honda isn't a bad machine, the deck will rot under the motor, but for $250 or so it'll last 10 years.

Tractors I almost recommend Husqvarna, never buy a Husq Z turn.

Now, if you want a chain saw...

Wish I would have come here for Lawn Mower suggestions earlier. I bought a Yard Machine yesterday because it was cheap. When I got home, I checked reviews, and they were ALL terrible.
Planning to take it back to HD tonight and get a Toro 22" push mower. The Toro reviews seem to be pretty stellar. I've got a relatively small yard that I can mow in about 60 minutes. I don't need anything too great, I was just scared off by the awful reviews that Yard Machine was getting. My previous Craftsman lasted six years. I'm fine if I get that out of the Toro.

Or a dirt bike.
