Latest from WVU

I think he underestimates Vols fans. We have one of the best traveling fan bases in the country. Charlotte is not that far away and it's the season opener. You can expect to see Vols fans in force. Go Vols!

Why should we care what your AD says? WVU can't even sell season tickets for the games played in that high school stadium you call home!!!!

That he expects WVU fans to outnumber Vols fans 60-40 on Saturday. Charlotte is home to over 300,000 WVU alums and ticket sells have been exceptional.

They expect over 68,000 and if its not a sell out its not going to be WVU's fault.

Dont worry, they'll all be filing out by the end of the 3rd quarter.

Some notes: Dana says WVU used "or" on the depth chart just because Tennessee did. He says it doesn't really matter. McKoy will get the start for WVU at RB but true frosh Leddie Brown has been the most impressive RB in fall camp.

Dana doesn't think Pruitt will use two QBs that extensively because their styles are so different. He thinks Pruitt is astute enough to recognize WVU's weakness last year was on DL and he expects the Vols to make WVU prove they can stop the run.

Both USC transfer Kenny Bigelow and Clemson transfer Jabril Robinson have won starting jobs on the DL.
I know this is a novel idea for most mountaineer fans, but we have the internet here in Vol country. We neither need nor care to have you deliver us this "breaking news" of your MAC level coach's utterances.

WVU currently has around 22,000 undergrads and 5,000 grad students. total students between grads and undergrads. If a quarter of total students graduate this year that would be 7,000 students. IF EVERY student that graduates moves to Charlotte it would take 42 years for there to become 300,000 WVU alums in Charlotte. I wouldnt believe everything you hear. Liars figure, but figures never lie.

Let's get this straight. Of WVU's 200,000 all-time graduates, 300,000 of them currently live in Charlotte? I think I now have a better understanding of your score prediction.
My guess is he didn't graduate from WVU himself -- or maybe he did. Math is hard.

If we'd gone balls out and made the biggest hire money could buy, it'd be an orange sea. Our administration is still not all in for football. Until they get there, enjoy the suck folks.

He might be referring to WV high school graduates as WV alumni since that's considered a degree to them.

You'll be lucky if 33% of the ticket sales are to WV fans.

And on a side note: You're implying that metro Charlotte with a population of 2,474,314 (2018) has 300,000 WV alums? 27.2% of Americans have a Bachelor's Degree or higher. So out of about 673,013 Metro Charlotte residents with a college degree, an astounding 44.58% are WV Alums?

This and the West Virginia alumni website says there are 200,000 WV alums across the world. So Mule is claiming that 150% of all WV alums live in Charlotte.

I've resisted making jokes about West Virginians, but .... that really is some interesting math.

Can't even really claim it's a typo, as I doubt there are 30K WV alums in Charlotte either. That would still be about 5% of all college grads in the area in a state with UNC, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest, ECU, App State, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Asheville, Western Carolina, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention alums from Tennessee, South Carolina, Clemson, VA Tech, etc, etc, etc.

Hey man can you just stop. You’re making all of us WVU fans look like arrogant tools. Even if that quote was right, which is impossible to know due to secondary ticket sales, what did you expect to accomplish by posting that? That is something you post on the WVU board. You can’t come to an opposing teams board and create thread after thread talking ****. It’s annoying, unnecessary, and disrespectful. Sorry Vol Fans, this guy represents the vocal minority of WVU fans.
Don't worry about it. We see it most years. We had a couple of Utah State fans a few years back telling us how they were going to beat UT by a couple of scores. I can't remember OU, VT, or Oregon fans talking too much. We even had a Montana fan come through talking smack because UT had only won 6 games in 2010.

Don't shoo him away though... he's entertaining.

The WVU Alumni Association consists of over 200,000 graduates in some 135 nations. According to WVMULE, of these 200,000 graduates, 300,000 live in Charlotte. Got to love that WVU Edumacation.

Dude you are getting your arse handed to you on this thread, Big Orange style

Feeding the troll. And he is a troll, not to be confused with the legitimate WVU fans who have stopped in here. I have no issue with legitimate fans from opposing teams. Trolls...another story.

WVU is anywhere from an 8 to 13 point favorite. Take your pick. They should, by all rights, win this game.

But here's the bottom line: WVU has peaked. All we hear is about how this is "the best WVU team in years." I agree. They might well be just that. Time will tell.

UT, meanwhile, is coming off of one of its' worst years in recent history. New coach, new staff, new schemes, new everything. Including attitude. Time will tell.

Once again...WVU has peaked. UT is ascending. And time will tell. Regardless of the outcome of this game, in 3 years, UT and WVU will likely be far apart in the FBS food chain. UT will be near the top, if not at it. WVU will be right where they are today: middle of the top 25. UT will be focusing on UGA, Florida, and Bama. WVU will be focusing on perennial "almost-made-it" teams like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas. Plus the 6 other football programs in the "Big 12" (they can't even do basic math) that will never sniff the FBS playoff.

WVU Mule, troll that he is, is smart to come here now and spread his feathers. This year, he has a shot at UT. In 3 years, the only SEC team forum you'll find him on will be UK or Vandy. That'll be his only hope to trash-talk with the SEC.

He might not eat crow on September 1st, but he'll never eat a hot dog at the FBS National Championship game. Well...unless he's parking cars, or a converted SEC fan. It is what it is.

Best to learn how to fly before you f*** with an eagle.

Go Vols.
