Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

It really doesn't matter if it was to prevent a panic. On March 24th, Donald Trump went on Fox News and made a bad faith argument before the American people while "playing down" the Coronavirus. Trump compared the Coronavirus to the seasonal flu and then wondered why we were shutting the economy down for one, but not the other? It was very disingenuous. This was the con man in Trump coming to the forefront and it wasn't very smart. Trump should have known that Woodward would make those recordings public.
No, wrong interpretation on actions and statements by you.

Again the National Emergency was declared prior to March 24th. The public was informed. The public was not deceived by Trump. Fauci at the same time in February is in the record stating Covid was not going to be a big problem. Fauci was part of the medical professionals advising Trump. You lose again. Give up.

Bruh, lick your wounds and try again tomorrow.

I’m not arguing that anyone is absolved, people are dead. My original point, though, was that the failings at the federal level handicapped the state responses... all of them.

And failings at the state level handicapped the state responses and some states did better with the handicaps than others.

You could make this point too with out making up charges against the WH and HHS.

Plus the democratic run states ignored or fought against any suggestion or measures the administration wanted to do.

Just working from what Trump put on an audio recording and what the spokesperson for the Dept. of Health and Human Services put on Facebook, and there really isn't a need to be "making up charges". Trump has admitted to playing down the Coronavirus in February and March... and that HHS spokesman that just accused government scientists of "sedition" and who expressed a fear for his life? Well, that guy just looks like a wing-nut. These are the kooks and conspiracy theorists that Trump has brought into the government. Thanks, Donny.

How? They failed in their duties and passed the buck.

The last is not possible unless you remove the politics out of it.

Such is your love of Trump, that you won't even believe his own taped admission that he downplayed the Coronavirus. This is very cult-like.

I’m not exactly for certain but I know that the hospital system that I am attached to pushes to get a coronavirus diagnosis for financial reasons..... I assume that leads also up to death bc I cannot figure out any other reason they would claim a car wreck victim as a covid death....I’m not a doctor but I do have an NPI number with my profession so I get info sent to me that tells me not to miss out on the financial gain that can be made from coronavirus care.

To my knowledge there is no additional payment for death. Only for the various types of treatment that a COVID patient might receive - these tiers are inflated for a COVID+ patient. For example, if in a ventilator, there is an additional reimbursement and it comes at a higher rate than a normal ventilator (presumably because they tend to be vented longer). Where this breaks down is when a general admit is tested, comes back positive, but isn’t actually there for it. This is where the push to test comes in. But upon death, no bonus to my knowledge.

They count those deaths because the CDC told them to. In a pandemic I think that decision is made to speed data reporting. But it doesn’t seem necessary now and I know I’ve heard some state authorities say these aren’t counted as CV deaths. But I don’t know which do and which don’t. If people didn’t test positive well after being over CV, it would be a non-issue if motorcycle deaths and the like are included. As it is, with longer positive windows, it’s more of an issue but still not a big one. Heart disease, cancer, etc become much more difficult to discern.

Some of you guys need a hobby or a job 🤣

I see where the unelected KCBOH passed their resolution to not only continue bar curfew, but extend it to include alcohol sales at restaurants past 11 p.m. How do we get these monkeys removed from "office?"

Good news: despite the selective media coverage regarding an increased number of positive tests in the area, hospitalizations are at new lows since June. That means the "right people" are finally contracting the virus and building towards immunity.

An American military employee is facing jail in Germany after allegedly going on a bar crawl with COVID-19, infecting at least 23 others and exposing more than 710 people to the virus.

The Munich public prosecutor has opened an investigation after the woman identified only as Yasmin A from the US, went out partying in Garmisch-Partenkirchen while awaiting test results after returning from a vacation in Greece in early September with a sore throat.

On Tuesday it was reported authorities had recorded three more COVID-19 infections in people who frequented bars visited by the 26-year-old, who works at the Defense department owned Edelweiss Lodge and Resort.

I mean, I have pride in the colonial rebellion too, who wouldn’t? I’m just not under the illusion that things wouldn’t have turned out different if we had M16s and the British had Predator drones, Abraham’s tanks and Apache choppers.

Well, true, they might; but did you ever hear the one about skinny little guys running around jungles in pajamas with a few AK-47s and some ideas about makeshift weapons and tactics? A dirty little secret is that technology doesn't always win and it's hard to take ground from people who own it and have no plans to give it up. That's a lesson repeated every few years it seems. How long have we been in Afghanistan now? How long were the Soviets there before, and the Brits, and a few others. Do you think we're so devoid of people willing to fight for the country that there are no more Francis Marions around?
