When to trust the numbers and when not. I really didn't know Republicans held the Public School System in such high regard. I don't think schools should jump right back in with both feet as if nothing is different. Covid-19 is still a killer that needs to be contained. It's going to be a weird school year regardless. If they have to wear hazmat suits to play football, so be it.

Pretty sure the Moderna potential vaccine requires 2 doses 1 month apart.

Even then, it's likely not a 'permanent' vaccine a la MMR.

The one thing I agree with Trump on... I think the virus will eventually just 'go away'. Not anytime soon. But, I think it'll go away before we actually develop a feasible, permanent vaccine.

I heard a story this morning about a diner that went under due to covid. I can't even imagine how many stories like this there are across the country. A virus with a survival rate of over 99% and pushed by some with political motives have caused millions of Americans to lose a lot and some have lost everything.

I was thinking that might be the case. I'm more encouraged by the T cell research on the coronavirus in regards to mutations.

Where do you live, Bug Tussle? The Nashville area has lost about 15 restaurants and chains are beginning to close.

I agree with political motives being a problem. Trump's campaign of minimizing the disease for reelection purposes has nearly brought the country to its knees a second time.

Other countries have implemented strict school structure policies like smaller groups, masks in the classroom, and social distancing. I can’t speak for other states but Georgia is doing none of those as a whole. It’s amusing how some of you point to other country’s successes and pretending the US is doing the same things

Knox county is requiring masks. Peeling off a certain percent of students to virtual learning, etc.

We are merely pointing to the fact that there is data suggesting kids dont pass this to adults in statistically meaningful ways.

82 whole cases? I just locked my door

I live in a hotspot that has been in the news recently. I have heard of no issues with camps or childcare centers. My kids have been in a group of about 60 since April with zero issues. Many of these are kids of essential workers that have been on their jobs with no break.

Thankfully our school is starting on time also and my kids will be on the bus to get there

We're doing far, far more testing than any other country on earth no matter how you want to figure it. Anyone who uses this is issue to pound Trump is obviously a victim of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

These tests are expensive, about $100 a pop. It takes trained lab folks to read them. Trained professionals to administer them. We're not talking a pregnancy test here. It's amazing that we have as much testing as well do and I'd argue we're closer to doing too much testing rather than not enough
