Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

The article stated they didn’t have a confirmed cause of death and were performing an autopsy.

Without looking into it too much, if the cause of death was pneumonia while infected with CV19, hoping the virus didn't cause the death seems like "it wasn't the fall that killed him, it was the ground."

They just extended the stay home order for the Charlotte area until april 29th. That's a month from today for the shoeless liberals taking off their neighbors socks to try and "count it out" at home. Over 1 million people..closer to 2 million..like my wife who will be out of work for another month.

Yep...intentional destruction of our countries economy. Wtf...

I would quote the over 15000 dead ..5000 of which were children in 2009 again..that got zero reaction or closings...but I digress.

Eff you liberal trash and the media that represents you. Rot.

Sure, but I'm actually responding to posts stating Trump will lose their vote if he does this, noting Cuomo's objection that it's unthinkable, and so on. It's odd *that* is the demarcation line for some.
I think you’re right about how it would affect people’s votes.

I don't know about you, but pre ACA I saw my coverage go down and premiums and deductibles go up while profits for these insurance providers skyrocket. Good employer provided insurance gave way to no so good employer provided insurance. BC/BS of TN recently filed a lawsuit trying to stop state lawmakers from reviewing agreements they made with care providers because they are "trade secrets" (market manipulation).
It’s not market manipulation. They base hospital payments based on population and how healthy they are. Thus big cities with large homeless and drug addict and mentally ill people will get “less” than suburbs

The article doesn’t state either way other than the click grabbing headline.

The corollary here, without a looking into it too much (...sigh...), is hoping the virus did kill him is panic pushing and sensationalism.

There are children with conditions that wouldn't otherwise be fatal, who will die because of the virus. If someone wants to split hairs to say it's nothing to worry about it, go for it.

It didn’t mentioned pneumonia in the article although I skimmed so I may have missed it

Who is saying there is nothing to worry about? My argument is there is nothing to panic about. There is a difference.

The simple fact remains this hits those with underlying conditions the hardest, particularly the elderly. There is not a single data set that shows it is hitting children anywhere even remotely the same as the older population.

Anecdotal stories about a child here and a child there, that aren’t even confirmed fatalities due to corona just smells of panic pushing and being agenda driven.

The stats are the stats, and they don’t support the narrative you seem to be arguing here.

Yes, I 100% believe that nurse is lying. I have no ticking idea how many morgue slots they have in NO let alone the state of LA but if 130 something has overwhelmed them then there is a underlying issues with the city and state that need to be addressed.
A typical hospital will have a wet room for autopsy and 2 morgue slots for smaller hospitals and up to 50 or 60 like cook County in Chicago. Our community hospital has 6. The next hospital over has 640 beds and 10 morgue slots. I've been in several morgues.
I agree, if 137 deaths statewide is overwhelming LA has an issue.

I'm sorry man. That is not sustainable for this country.

Harass the neverending hell out of your governor and mayor. The longer people are willing to hide in their homes and cede power to their local dept of health, the greater the chance we dont recover from this within 10 years. Maybe more.

I'm only arguing that children who are already sick or otherwise fragile who contract the virus are more likely to die. I have no agenda on this, other than hoping people don't believe that children cannot be a casualty from the virus.

If there has to be one pet peeve for today, it’s the use of the word “exponentially” in the press. The math doesn’t really support its usage.

At this point, I'm not sure how many families would resist if the department of health showed up at their house and said we need to relocate your family to this "safe zone."

Anyone CAN be a casualty. The simple fact remains your first sentence here applies more towards the elderly and it isn’t close. The numbers show that under the same conditions, this will kill the older patient more.

These silly-a** anecdotal stories don’t say a damn thing to counter the argument that younger people just plain aren’t as susceptible to this.

They would certainly have to do a better job convincing me of the immediate threat than the press has done.
