That was my senior year at UT. I never missed a game my entire time there. Devoe was one of the greatest bench coaches ever. He lost a bit of his edge when he went through divorce, and when the NCAA instituted the 3 point line and shot clock...never really adjusted to it. But he still won with mediocre talent except for the early years when he had Crosby, R. Johnson, Carter, Wood, and Ellis.
That video is obviously doctored. Everyone knows Tennessee was never on television and nobody ever attended the games before Pearl arrived.
I used to love watching the replays of the games at Stokely on Channel 2. I was lucky to have parents that realized there were some things more important to a ten year old than a full night's sleep.thats a good one hat. lol i remember them good ole days. i miss the ole stokley atheletic center. imagine michael brooks playing in the day with a 3point line. i think he could shoot with chris lofton any day. and dale ellis was just a great ball player. i remember he pratically shut down the famous 7 4 ralph sampson in the ncaas

Believe it. That place rocked. Not a bad seat in the house. There was always a haze inside from the cigarette smoke. Ahhh, the good old days!
I started UT in 1994 so was never used for the Vols when I was there. We used it for intramural bball but can't imagine what it was like with the Vols playing there. Looks like it was rowdy

Amen on Devoe. Always thought we had a chance no matter how out-manned we were. Loved the team in the video: Dale was the best, absurd accuracy. Brooks was a zone killer and always hit the free throws down the stretch. Beaman was a fantastic point guard. Great D.
