Lance Thompson to bama

Easily one of the best coaches on our staff. Come on guys. Losing all of these assistant coaches is not good. It just isn't. Not to mention at this point in the recruiting trail. Wake up.

...right.

If you are really shocked by this, there is no point in discussing it. It's much more fun seeing you weeping at the dying of the light than being rational.

Sucks to lose him but its not because he doesnt wanna be here. Once he was overlooked for the DC job, he was going to leave. jmo

Nope. Sorry. Sirmon did a great job, but no.

Fair enough. I think LT did a great job here and was loyal to the program through the turmoil (well, until now), but he hasn't been what I personally expected him to be. It's a loss and hurts this close to signing day, but not a huge deal.

I'm not shocked at all. It makes perfect sense, and that's why I wish they promoted LT in the first place. I don't blame him at all.

Not a big deal, honestly. The big spot (coordinator) has been filled.

What worries me he has not been a cord since 98 and he has been for three years out of what 27 years and they all were at small schools.

if we lose lance we lose stability what little we have left he has been here thru it all. he is a great coach, the players like him. come on at least try to offer him something to stay

Didn't Dooley talk to Saban about hiring CSS? Wonder if saban told Dooley he'd target CLT to replace him.

Oh Saban, the guy that "stepped over a guy having convulsions on the football field" Saban? Nah, doubt it. Football is a dirty behind the scenes game.

I'm not sure offering LT more would fix the problem. Either LT has had enough or Dooley doesn't care if he goes... or both. The way this went down makes it seem that both Dooley and Lance want to part company. Dooley certainly has his own way of handling media and people issues.

Sounds like LT was mad that he was passed over. Not that he and Dooley didn't get along.

I seriously doubt that Dooley did not see this coming. If he didn't he has a serious disconnect with his staff.

Has anyone heard how much $ saban offered? I would think it would have to be quite a bit more than the 400,000 he's already making. Which is pretty high as it is for a position coach. I've always heard how CLT was really happy in Knoxville. If that's true I don't see him making a lateral move unless he's just mad about getting passed over for DC.
With that being said, I'd hate to lose him but I think Dooley could still upgrade again with a new hire especially in the 400,000 range.
