How would you feel if we hired Lance Leipold?

He made the playoffs 6 times in 22 years. I guess it depends on your definition of long term success.

Any coach that makes it past year 5 in the nfl is a successful coach, whether you think so or not. Any coach that makes it 22 years in the NFL is top shelf.

 Urban Meyer went 10-2 and then 12-0 at Utah before he went to Florida. I'm sure the whitewater coffee shop was just abuzz with Lance's command of a division III football program and I'm sure that all 7 of you that attended games that year still wear your warhawks sweatshirts with pride. I tell you what...if you can name one DIII championship winning coach that went on to have a successful career with a major BCS program..let's say 3, 10-win seasons, i'll not only retract my 37-33 statement, I'll dig to the corners of the internet until I find a Lance Liepold game at whitewater and I'll actually watch it.
You can try to poop on D 3 for I tall you want, but you are showing your ignorance by doing so. I highly doubt you could hold the jock strap of D3 players. The Meyer comp is solely based on his temperament and demeanor. If you observed him. You would see the leader he is. A great coach can have that, no matter high school, NAIA, JUCO, D3, D2, FBS, OR FCS. IT DONT MATTER, IF A GUY CAN LEAD. HE WILL FIND TOUGH. SKILLED WINNERS TO PLAY FOR HIM. I just hope they make a smart Decision.

I noticed you completely avoided naming one. I hope they make a smart decision, but it's not looking promising.

Yep. All I see is a guy who wins at a clip we've not seen in this program since a guy named Peyton wore the orange. I'm sure as hell not gonna complain about a guy with a resume like his.
34-10 is decent for the last years at D3 but it is certainly not impressive enough for a HC position at a P5 school. He should try working and having success as a position coach , then coordinator at a P5 school first before he should be offered a HC job .

He's been everything from a GA to a position coach to a coordinator to a head coach. Guy is 56. Don't see him jumping up to a P5 program as a position coach at this point in his career.

Isn’t he the HC in the MAC?

"Nfl". You realize that the average NFL coaching career is less than the 7 years you even posted, right?

You realize the UT job isn't in the NFL right?

Even so, your "top shelf" sure changed to "average" in a hurry. Move them goal posts! Strange that no NFL teams have come calling w/their openings. I guess those GMs just don't have your keen insights.

Yes, UT is a lower standard than the NFL. And no, i didn't change Fisher from top shelf to average. I said the average nfl coach is a coach for less than 7 years (really more like 2 or 3). Because you showed 7 years of fishers career.

In other words, the sample of his career you showed to try to say he's no good, actually shows he's above average even for those 7 years of his career, while his total career is much longer.

Fisher is a top shelf coach, well above average, because of his documented long term successful coaching at the highest level.

Danny White hired Leipold while he was at Buffalo right? Leipold has Kansas. Yes KANSAS ranked and is a helluva a coach.

I think it’s safe to say that our AD might know a thing or two about hiring coaches. Man this feels good knowing that we finally have a great AD running things!

The same Josh Huepel that lost 49-23 to BYU?
- did I mention less talented Coastal Carolina beat that same BYU?
- A BYU team that was fighting for national respect to perhaps get into the playoff.

That Same Josh Hupel took over 13-0 program 3 years ago and finished 6-4 this season.

but yeah...letś sign him up!
What an IDIOT!

Leipold is terrific. Kansas is the most improved team in the USA. As I posted a few days previously they hadn't won more than 3 games in any of the previous 13 years before this year. And their QB was zero stars until after his junior year of HS when he received his first college offer from UT Martin.
