IMO, I don't think 95% of this board would know what comes with being a legit D1 football player. I've learned that you can't say what you would do because its all assumptions anyways. People that have been through it can tell you better and from what I have read it's NO EASY road. Say what you will, but I nor you would know what to do with the attention and fanfare you would get with it.
Smoking pot is not an answer to being a D-1 player. I mean I have played athletics my whole life and even played college ball at the D-2 level and I had teammates who failed 1 drug test but 4 drug tests. I mean this guy needs to be in rehab or something and he had to know that he could be drug tested at any time. Coker is either one a junkie or either the dumbest person to walk on earth. I think they should have kicked him off the team after his second positive drug test. I think Coker should be on that show intervention because this kid has more problems than a math book. I just think its sad that he let his team down last year and only thought of himself. All I can say is good riddance and we dont need student athletes with the character that Coker had.
Division 2 college football is no where in comparison to being at a school in the limelight like UT. Coker had issues before he even came to UT and the coaches knew it, but tried to help a young man try and rise above it but he decided not to and now he's not here. Being sore at someone whom you had no control of coming here in the first place is somewhat asinine.
you people are incredible. Attacking a person's character based on what, smoking pot? Wow, just wow
Well I got a #22 LC Jersey & still wear it, even to the games. I'm not attacking him, I hope he does well, & finally realizes pot is illegal, it messed his life up, & will mess it up some more if he keeps on. I hope you learn the same facts, and quit playing off pot as not that big of a deal.
It takes some people more than just four chances to learn that "what is cool or others are doing" isn't where it's at. He was obviously a wonderful talent while we had him, he just had more personal problems than just weed while he was at UT from what I have read. Just pray that the young man can turn it around for himself and let it be.
See this is totally different because he just chose to abuse alcohol, which is perfectly acceptable because the government says so.
Drugs are bad, mmmkay.

You think its asinine that I expect someone to act respectable and represent the university of Tennessee with class? Im more sore at the coaching staff for allowing him to stay on the team after his second positive drug test. Now that being said Britton Colquitt showed also be off the team also. I also agree that there is way more pressure to play at a D-1 school especially at UT, but that does not give Coker an excuse to embarress his school. Its really sad that Coker chose the road that he did because he could have been a great player. The bottom line on Coker is this, he repeatedly let his team down, because he thought it was more important to get high.
