Kyle Rittenhouse - The Truth in 11 Minutes

Maybe so, I do sympathize with someone acting in blatant self-defense being charged with murder. I would have the same thoughts if Kyle was black, but we all know he wouldn't be on trial if that was the case.
I also sympathize with anyone acting in self defense, but there are some gray areas here. Rittenhouse brought a semi-automatic weapon to a protest demonstration, and he lied about being an EMT (sorry, but being a trained lifeguard is not the same thing) to help justify his presence at the scene. Was he truly medical personnel seeking to assist others, or was he seeking confrontation with a group of people that he didn't respect? He might very well have been acting in self defense when he fired his weapon, but it's not some great miscarriage of justice that this case went to a trial.

I hope that Kyle Rittenhouse is acquitted. The kids life seems kind of pathetic. He has a desperate need to boost his self importance. I would bet that he has been bullied a lot in school.

The bold betrays your motivation.

Judge Bruce Schroeder is too aware of the cameras, and it looks like he is auditioning to replace "Judge Judy" when she retires. He is really hamming it up.
I especially enjoyed the two auditions where he completely ripped two new ass holes in the ADA once it was clear the ADA so desperately deserved them.

It's relevant to an important question. Did Rittenhouse go to the scene of a demonstration to protect and assist, or to confront and kill? For the record, I can easily buy the case made for self defense, but it's not ridiculous that this went to trial.

A lot of of projection in this. No one would come burn down buildings in my small home town, but if a large group of people were I think I would have the motivation to go protect my community. In all this, everyone disregards that Kyle's father lives in Kenosha so he could very well consider it a home. Calling it a protest demonstration is also quite the stretch, it was a mob of rioters. There's no might in the self-defense argument. He was chased, struck with rock, hit in the head with a skateboard, attempted to be disarmed, and had a pistol pointed at him. There's zero question he should be acquitted. I'm not going to get into the last part because it's just nonsense. I know nothing about how he feels other than the president, the media, celebrities, and the DA are trying to burn an 18 year old at the stake who acted in self-defense. Charge him with illegal possession of a weapon or something else? Fine. Murder? Ridiculous, and a complete miscarriage of justice. Nothing about his case has anything to do with justice.

In either case the action of his weapon is immaterial.

Judge Schroeder isn't hamming it up for the benefit of the jury. He is doing it for the cameras. He knows he is on the cable news networks and he wants to be the next Judge Judy.
Not sure I buy that, he's pissing off much more than half of his potential daytime audience.

... but the people who were arrested for various crimes committed at the Capitol on January 6th, were just protest demonstrators, right? A protest demonstration vs A mob of rioters? This determination seems entirely subject to one's own individual perspective.

He admitted on the stand that he was. Point blank. He can lie to media but wasn't bold enough when pressed in court with a picture to reference.
