You're right, I don't ever remember bringing in a coordinator of this caliber. It proves to me that White and Heup want a championship as much as us and are willing to spend what it takes.

Wait...I thought the guy from Washington was already moving in! There's nothing quite like a TN coach search.

We'll know more if Knowles aint hired before Saturday (Washington's bowl game). For all we know, this could be a smoke screen, to take attention away from the Walters hire. Although, 247 Go Vols did sling Knowles name out there as a potential hire. You're right, sometimes it seems like our fan base, including me, loves them a coaching search. I guess it's from all the last 15 years of staggering through the desert of college football. Heup will get it right. I have no doubt..

-Heupel cans Banks. The DC search is on.
- Started to hear traction about Ryan Walters being the guy.

-However you wanna slice it, Jim Knowles has been a top defensive name in CF for quite a few years.
-Most on VN had him as one of their dream hires.
-Of course most on here, including myself, said Knowles would be a fantastic hire but it’s nothing but a pipe dream.
-All of a sudden that pipe dream seems to be more of a reality. Josh Heupel went out and possibly hired one of the biggest names in college football.
-As expected, we have dumb fans that somehow are upset and finding fault with Heupel hiring someone like Knowles.

While I agree to an extent and this is factually correct, its not like if Muschamp went to Kirby and said he wants the position, that he would be UGAs defensive coordinator next year. Kirby went out of his way to point out after the SECG that " This is not my defense either. This is Schumann's defense. He deserves the credit". He didn't say that for no reason. Schumanns defense punched Bama in the mouth and they had no answer...ran for -3 yards on the day. When's the last time somebody held a Bama team to negative rushing yards? Especially on a good year where they won 10 out of 12 games regular season? Never before and likely never again.
