Could smart or Kiffin coached this same UT team to 7 wins? It’s one thing to coach 3 of the last 4 top recruiting classes than coaching a team that had 30 transfers in the off season, under investigation and under a first year head coach. He had a good season for sure. But not coach of the year worthy. I would’ve went with Kiffin or Smart.

Shouldn’t coach of the year be about doing more with less. Hueple and Smart could have switched teams and UGA would have been 12-0 heading into SEC championship game. We had a lead in every game we played and depth killed us. UGA has had 3 of the last 4 top recruiting classes. Who couldn’t coach that and be successful?I’d vote :
smart
Kiffin
Pittman
Heupel.
Who cares if he makes more money. I’m not one to give out meaningless raises but think JH ranks outside the top 10 in the SEC. Not worried about money long term for JH and not worried about him leaving to go anywhere now that OK is out of the way. Once we are winning, we are a destination job, and the money will be there.Glad he didn’t, probably a clause in his contract for more money if he’d won, not to mention awards like that cause other programs that are looking for a coach to come snooping around.
