Kiffin's coaching staff

LOL...that's funny. I like most folks outside UT, would never be stupid enough to hire this man. There is a reason why it is so easy to get him.......nobody wants him but UT!!!

i do find it odd that he interviewed for other jobs but never was offered them (the clemson and washington jobs) my thoughts on that are a) he couldn't get what he wanted with the washington or clemson job. b) he didn't really interview for the clemson or washington. c) we already offered him the job and he was just interviewing with them as a diversion.

i believe that option C is the real truth. i believe this deal was struck long before we think. like, back when fulmer was still coaching but not fulfilling his case to stay with W's. i think kiffin was going to be offered the job at seasons end... lending to the theory that no matter how the season ended, fulmer wasn't returning. when kiffin expressed interest in the washington job, he was pushing Hamilton to make a decisoin... being that the kiffin statement came out mid-week, hamilton couldn't make a move until after the next football game. and since that next game was a loss to s-car, it made it easier for hamilton to pull the trigger. and it also seems like hamilton was speaking to someone, other than the fans, when he came out and said that the buy out wasn't of any concern.

of course this is all just me speculating and talking out of my arse, but if you think it about it, it does seem plausible.

Washington probably knew he could do better, and I wouldn't be surprised if Kiffin hinted to Clemson in some way that he was going for UT.

I would assume Kiffin will call his own plays but I wonder if he'd give his Brother in Law the title of OC?
I don't know. I think he would get QB coach. Something tells me a QB coach on SOS's staff doesn't have much responsibility other than recruiting. I don't think he is ready to be an OC even if it is in title only.

Brent Hubbs has been told that Reaves is a definite on the staff and has been told that Monte will be too.

Funny. The people against the hire are the ones saying Fulmer should have gotten more time.

As bad as Fulmer had become, we just went from BAD to WORSE.

This will end badly, and it will only take about two years and you'll be agreeing with those that are opposed.

Fine you made your point. Looks us up in two years.

...and keeping Fulmer we would have went from bad to fatality.

I said this in another thread and now I want to say it directly to you.
Lets take a look at the 5-15 record with the Raiders. I will tell you that he was coaching a team in the NFL with a staff that was 2/3rds people he didn't want. They were forced on him from above. Rob Ryan, his defensive coordinator, faught him on every thing he tried to do. He tried to fire Ryan and that was the beginning of his demise in Oakland. In spite of the fact that his practices were the toughest in the league (the players union stepped in because the workouts were so rigorous) his players loved him and played their guts out for him! They wanted him to stay and some of the staff previously mentioned to go. He was in the process of turning the Raiders around. Given some more time, oakland would have been a much better team right now.
I say all of this because he can do good things here. If we all get behind him and the team and give him our full support. In 3 yrs he will have this team back in the mix at the top of the league. If you let him do his thing, in 3 yrs you will be both surprised and happy with where this team is heading.
Or..............you can continue with your current attitude and two things will happen. Kiffin will make you look silly and the rest of us can say "told you so!"

I'm out!

Kind of ironic. I feel the same way about our military. Now get off the computer and blow something up. Preferably something containing OBL.

Now that is a great idea! I'm gonna go take care of that, I'll be back in a minute. lol

Thanks man, I appreciated that.

If his brother in law is the QB coach at South Carolina, leave him there. Their QB play is almost as bad as ours.:banghead2:

OK, OK...we get your point. I've kept my mouth shut far to long. Just STFU. I'm sure everyone is completely tired of your rants. Noone cares about your opinion either. You have to be the most annoying poster I have ever seen on Volnation....EVER! Congrats. I've never wished a banning on anyone before, but that wouldn't do you enough justice.

Sylvester Croom OC/RB coach

How about team chaplain?
I find it interesting that Croom successfully coached linebackers at Bama including Cornelius Bennett and Derrick Thomas, then switched to running back coach and offense in the pros. I wonder what side of the ball he will go back to.

If it is kiffen, i hope his dad stays in tampa. the spread and the speed in the sec is two hard to defend in the "tampa two" . we already run a version of that now and there are huge holes all over the field and too many times the defenders are at a disadvantage.

The tampa 2, from what I've read, was designed to stop the west coast offense. My guess he will come up with a different defense to stop the spread option. I don't think there is anything to worry about here.
