Kiffin to LSU?

I think he ultimately wants Bama. That is now his "USC" in that it is the job he would leave anywhere for

Him going to LSU would effectively take that off the table forever. Yes Saban did it, but the politics are more difficult now.

I honestly think Lana is kind of holding back to see how the end of the season goes for Bama. They don't make the playoffs this year and make a bit of a run and those folks are gonna serve DeBoers head on a platter.
Saban did it after a terrible attempt at the NFL. Not even close to being similar situations.

Lane has done everything in his power to rehab his image in the last few years.

At this point, whatever decision he makes is going to irk at least two fanbases

If he just left, Ole Miss would eventually get over it for the most part. I mean hell, we had a substantial % of folks who wanted to hire him here again after what he pulled

Either LSU or Florida (or maybe both) is gonna be left at the altar

Dragging things out for weeks is going to turn the public against him in general. That's the way it goes

Decent enough coach. Dog crap person

Personally, I think the worn turns and Lane ends up at Bama.
I literally told someone just this week how pissed I am about this whole situation.
We got snot nosed, immature Lane and Florida is about to get grown up, mature Lane!
That’s when I thought Florida would get him.
🤷‍♂️

I'd be pretty pissed if I was a player for Ole Miss being the backup date to the dance.

It's insulting for Kiffin to lead them on like this.
This.

Ole Miss is having one of the best seasons in their programs history. The team should be focused on winning the Egg Bowl and then making a deep playoff run. Instead, their HC is causing chaos and making this season about himself. I’m not surprised because it’s who Kiffin is. But I hate it for his players because it would be hard to enjoy what they’re accomplishing with this circus going on. They don’t even know if he’ll be their HC 8 days from now. I’d be pissed if I was a player.

In my opinion, Florida has better high school ball than Louisiana. So, he would have had more local talent to work with there.

Admittedly, that old-school line of thought is almost dead.

The flip side, LSU will probably have more success with their new AD. Florida's guy is entrenched and doesn't appear to be all that interested in football.

You are wrong.

LA is a VERY talent rich state with ZERO in-state competition (no other P4 team in state). UF is fighting FSU, Miami, and every other school in the SEC (Oregon gets some FL talent as well).

BTW, LSU got FL's #1 recruit in the 2025 class

It sure does sound like he's going. One thing is for sure, even if he stays, 2 teams are going to not even be able to look for a coach until after thanksgiving.

These fans are still talking about "proven winner" blah blah. Like there are proven winners. I swear it's like football was invented last month.

Yes because he was light years better as a head coach at FAU at the time compared to the final 3 guys in Pruitt, Tucker, and Doeren

Instate high school talent, while an advantage, was always overrated. Kids leave the state all the time. But with NIL and the portal now, it's meaningless.

LSU is the better job. I don't want him going to Florida because I hate Florida.
