i agree w Kiffin. We were jilted and I can't stand him for it....but he was right. I believe he would've dominated at UT

We have won under him and will win without him. The difference is, under him, the NCAA would have been knocking at our door and taking wins and championships away from us a few years down the road. Who really cares what this douche thinks anyways? He should just worry about USC on the trouble he can get them in to.

agree, he would have been successful, he's not here anymore, move on, I will likely be bitter and mad in the fall when he wins games at USC and we likely struggle. Life goes on....

I have my doubts about Kiffin winning the SEC, but I do think he would have won the 'Big mouth of the south" award! :)

He could also win the Super Bowl if still with the Raiders.

I wonder if he actually believes he is the elite coach that his mouth portrays him as being? He has yet to prove anything other than him being a great recruiter.

I understand you don't like the hire. I do believe you need to atleast let the man coach a practice or 2 before you make the judgement that he was one of UT athletics worse hires. I, myself, am not blindly following him, but I will give the man a chance to do bad or good before I form any opinions.

Ignorant. Nothing clicks mine faster than not giving people a chance based on faulty logic. Despite what you THINK you know (which is a lot) Dooley has not coached yet and you have no idea how he will do. Stop trying to convince us that Dooley has already failed when he hasn't coached a game or practice. It will never work because the logic is stupid. Give it up. If Dooley does fail, then ok, he couldn't handle it so get rid of him and you were right. However, you saying how much you hate the hire and you want him gone before he has done anything is getting annoying so thank you for being done with the debate.

While it's true that Dooley had limited resources at LT, it's also true that he had limited competition and still struggled to win. Other than Boise, there is no other WAC team that a good coach couldn't consistently beat at LT.

Rommel was out supplied. He had superior forces, but not in numbers. Plus, Montgomery, due to BI, knew Rommels strategic plan of attack. Montogomery had the upper hand before the second Battle of El Alamein even began

1. Lane Kiffin is gone - he is irrelevant to me as a UT fan (other than rooting for every team that plays USC from now until the day he leaves or is fired)

2. USC will not be put on probation. At most, they'll get irrelevant penalties that will make no difference to recruting and the future (vacated wins and a stern letter from the NCAA commissioner! Yikes!!). So, in the words of an earlier poster, the NCAA should just close up shop and have a yard sale.

3. Kiffin might have been able to win the SEC while he was here, but he isn't anymore so I could care less about what he things he "might" have been able to do if he had stayed. He didn't, so he needs to quit talking about us. We'd rather not be associated with you anymore, Kiff.

My take on Kiffin is he was exactly what TN needed at the time. It's like when you have a serious bacterial infection you get a heavy dose of antibiotics to shock it and then you back off with more moderate but still aggressive treatment.
Kiffin was the anti-fulmer and he was the shock that our program needed. Now Dooley is the more moderate but aggressive treatment we need.
I think this whole thing has worked out perfectly.

Dooley has more experience than Kiffin did when we hired him. If there was ever a bad hire, that was it. Kiffin is a completely unproven coach. He has never won anything without Pete Carrol. Dooley will be just fine. It will probably take a year or two before we are in contention, but that is not his fault. We will be much better off in the long run. Kiffin is a butt:pirate: If you like him so much, why don't you become a trojan?

Say what you want Kiffin was building something I was sad and ticked a bit to see him go.....I actually think we would have been in ATL for the SEC CG by 2011...His first class would have been Jnrs. by then.....Hey he took his dream job and like it or not USC is a better/easier job than UT....USC is the ONLY big program that can beat an SEC team in a National Championship game....Unless they get hit with major probation, get used to USC v SEC (Take your pick, FL, AL hopefully TN, LSU after they fire Les, GA after they fire Richt).....

As far as the NCAA snooping around here in April there is only one thing that scares me and that is the fact that they know that Ed Orgeron was on our payroll. I am hoping that they are looking into the practices of that coaching staff to nail them at USC, but if they committed any violations here then we will suffer the consequences. Those actions would keep this program down for 4-6 years since we are already so thin in so many positions.

If this were to happen then it is time to kiss Hamilton goodbye and hire an AD on the level of a Jeremy Foley. I sure would not want to see Fulmer back since most of this mess is due to him in the first place.

Relax about being down "4-6 years"...Alabama is on probation and where did that get them? It will not be anything major if anything at all...relax people, DD will have his chance to win, if not he and the man that hired him will be looking for jobs.......
