You know, fine. I'm done with this debate and I'm done with the football forum til we hire an actual coach. Nothing clicks my vomit reflex quicker than blind faith. All Dooley needs to do is start "encouraging" church attendance among his players and we'll have the football equivalent of Buzz Peterson. I'll be back at the end of the '12 season, when the coaching search starts.

To all the Dooley will fail at UT, because he was mediocre at LaTech people:
Its all about resources!
Rommel, one of the greatest military strategists in history, could not stop the invasion of Normandy, not because he was an idiot, but because he faced insurmountable odds. He didnt have the best troops at the time and what equipment they had, was keep in reserve to protect the invasion of Germany itself. Was this Rommels fault?
Dooley has 100 times the advantage in resources he had at LaTech and the traditions of UT to boot. Give the guy a chance.
None of you Vince Lombardis were born walking
But Rommel, with superior forces, got outfoxed and defeated by the British in North Africa.
While it's true that Dooley had limited resources at LT, it's also true that he had limited competition and still struggled to win. Other than Boise, there is no other WAC team that a good coach couldn't consistently beat at LT.

Opinion: Kiffin says he could have won SEC with Vols - College football- nbcsports.msnbc.com
Keep believing in Ray Goff, V 2.0. That's your call. I'm simply going to treat the next three years as our penance for the '98 National Title and wait for him to get run so we can hire an actual SEC caliber coach.
People, Kiffin is a good coach and a great PR piece, but tell me what he has won that makes him a better than average coach. We lost to Florida and Alabama as expected, lost to Ole Miss, VA Tech, and UCLA. There was nothing exceptional about his one season at the University of Tennessee. Yes we did beat UGA, but even Fulmer was good at that.
As far as the NCAA snooping around here in April there is only one thing that scares me and that is the fact that they know that Ed Orgeron was on our payroll. I am hoping that they are looking into the practices of that coaching staff to nail them at USC, but if they committed any violations here then we will suffer the consequences. Those actions would keep this program down for 4-6 years since we are already so thin in so many positions.
If this were to happen then it is time to kiss Hamilton goodbye and hire an AD on the level of a Jeremy Foley. I sure would not want to see Fulmer back since most of this mess is due to him in the first place.
