Kiffin Blown Away By Hatred For Crompton.

Give the kid a break. He's busting his a$$ for us for what, a game? No need for him to receve death threats and have all the bashing. If he sees this week that CLK is gonna take care of him regardless the outcome, maybe just maybe that will lift some of the pressure of his shoulders and he actually might have a good/decent game for us. Regardless the outcome it's just a game folks, not worth all the hatred.:espn:

:clapping:

Please post more often.

I wonder if Crompton just had a bad game? i mean come on Peyton Manning has bad games Jay Cutler is a good quarterback and threw 3 Int's the other night im telling you lets trust this kid and just believe in him he has what it takes he just needs to go through with it.

I sure hope it was just a bad game, his only one hopefully. But this week will tell a lot more about him and the team as a whole

I hate his play on the field. I hate his pass the buck attitude after he does horrible. He may be okay in the real world, but in TN football I do hate him. Please graduate already. Sometimes I think Bama paid him to play here.

Hey Stumps, I really became a UT fan when Heath decided to go there. We're from the same hometown and went to the same church. He played for my HS and coach a few years after me.

I see what you are saying but I think the comparison is limited. Heath held out and then rubbed his teammates wrong in DC. He never really played for a team with anything like offensive talent around him... then just when it seemed he might just have it come together he tried to play through a turf injury and ruined his foot.

Hopefully Crompton's story won't have that kind of sad ending.

I don't think Crompton's will have the same ending because Crompton's last game in a uniform will be his last at TN.

The holdout in DC was def. a dumb move, depending on how you look at it (I mean, he did end up with the money), but he really struggled with learning the plays, just never seemed relaxed in the pocket. oh well.

Wow... comparing Crompton to Shuler?

well... not in terms of talent, but in terms of struggles. Crompton at the college level and Shuler at the Pro level - both over thinking in the pocket, eyeing receivers, not doing check downs, not finding the open man, not relaxed in the pocket, can't execute.

I think Ainge's sophomore year is a better comp.

I don't see the not relaxed part on Crompton so much as the other errors. Heath had about 2 or 3 really great reasons for not being relaxed when he was with the skins. 300+ DL moving at mach2 speed gets one's attention.

He made one play where he stepped forward in the pocket and delivered a strike last week that was outstanding. JC can do it. He just hasn't done it very often.

I don't HATE Crompton. I hate the things he does... the INTs, the locking onto receivers, etc. I know people say he has had so many coordinators, systems, and junk in the last few years... but what I have found astounding is that that many coaches have worked with this kid and NO ONE has seemed to find a way to fix these problems.

If these problems cannot be fixed, he cannot, I repeat CANNOT help this team do anything this year. I am down for reserving judgment until after this Florida game. If he struggles mightily again I'm so in favor of Stephens and just taking lumps this year. At least NS would have some meaningful experience (beside the GA game last year) under his belt to come in and lead next year.

I had no high expectations for JC this year at all... I just wanted a game manager, that's all. But he's not showing himself to be even close to that role either. I'm still going to Gainesville, will still yell for him... its just frustrating.

Signed,
Frustrated VOL fan

Huh? Note to Kiffin: This is the SEC. Win or suffer the consequences.

Bull SH*T, I have been a vol fan since 1976. We have had a handful of SEC Championships and 1 NC. Time for the fan base to get a grip.....this thing is going to take 3 years minimum.

he has hurt us more than helped in the last 2 years tennessee is used to winning and the last 2 seasons so far we are 6 and 8 ,5 or 6 wins will never be accepted and 8 wins is the bottom line 10 to 13 is what we want every year

Agree with the Ainge comparison and it's why I think Cutcliff is a great QB coach, and we seem to be lacking that right now.

CLK inherited QB's that performances directly affected the firing of Fulmer. We must have great players who can consistiently perform at every position and back ups who can step right in and not miss a beat before we can compete in the SEC! We will be ready to do this in 2011. In the mean time, we still can upset florida or Bama or botth and win a bowl game this year and next. Enjoy EB and Hardesty while you can and watch these young guys grow up before your very eyes. Have fun enjoy the games and back our guys no matter what!

He said from day 1 he's going to defend whoever his QB is from the media. He's doing that.

As well he should. What does everyone want Kiff to do...throw the kid under the bus? Would you love it if Kiffin got on National TV and said, "you know the kid just obviously doesn't have what it takes so we're going to bench him and go with Stevens."

There's not a ( good ) coach in the country that would do that and well they shouldn't.

At the end of the day this is a stupid game and 20 years from now Crompton will be a faint memory and if most people are man enough to admit it they should say how ashamed of themselves they are for railing on the kid so hard. I have a good time with all this football stuff and I can agree that up to this point...as far as football goes he doesn't seem to be able to get it done in tough situations but goodness....it's a game. This isn't life and death.

If your kid is in the hospital and the doctor gives him the wrong medication and makes him sicker....that's when you want to hurt somebody....not when a 22 year old QB throws an interception.

Amen...

I guess you could send him an encouraging message over Facebook. You don't have to be friends with him to send him one.

How do you do this? I tried a Facebook search, and all I found were a bunch of "Bench Crompton Now" type groups and such.

Crompton knew what he signed up for, it ain't like suck qb's don't get booed in the SEC, everyone knows that. If Kiffin loves the passion of Vol fans like he says, then love it!
