Kevin Ware has officially asked to be released from his LOI

Sadly same thing happened to me with my recruiting of baseball out of high school. I was committed to a school and the coach was fired and this is what my dad told me " at these big schools the programs are pretty similar. The field and court are the same size and dimensions and the balls are the same." The coaching staffs is one of the biggest things that seperates one school from another.

Yes its disappointing that they want out of their LOI but at least wait and see who the coach is. The school had to be appealing to you in the first placePosted via VolNation Mobile

True. Given BP's track record of placing players in the NBA, coach and school was all he could have been selling. Unless, he was a helluva salesman that was selling the dream of playing in the D-league or Turkey.

They signed. They stay or sit out a year. End of story. If they don't want to play for UT, let them cool their heels for a year. Sometimes a little stern forcefulness and guidance works on a teenager with limited life experiences. It is time they learn that a commitment is a commitment. If it doesn't work, let them go somewhere else. It is no skin off our bottoms unless we need the scholly.

They cannot be forced to do anything. They can sit out a year if they don't want to be here. Have you ever heard of a recruit enlisting in the military and suddenly changing his mind because he doesn't like his drill instructor? He makes a commitment and goes or is sent to jail. Voiding a commitment on an LOI won't send you to jail, but you have to sit out a year. That's the deal. Live with it.

I posted this in the other thread, so I may as well post it here:

Jones and Ware should both be let out of their LOI's. Hopefully they'll stay at Tennessee with the new coach, but they shouldn't be forced to.

+1. I'm not a fan of making them stay if they don't want to. That goes for anybody and any sport.

^^Not this^^ Comparing signing a LOI to Military enlistment?? Really? Failed logic. Not even close in similarity. :loco:
