Kenny Chesney at Battle of Bristol

Saw him in concert in Mississippi a few weeks ago. Dude sounds better live than he does on the radio, and I didn't even know that was possible. Best country singer going these days, and it's not even close.

Could be, now that Merle's gone... God rest his soul. Many thanks, Hag.

It's a Peyton Manning jersey the night Chesney played Neyland stadium and Peyton made an appearance and sang a duet....

You sure man? That almost looks like an 18 and the logo at the bottom of the collar looks like an Atlanta Braves "A" with a mullet, which is Alabama's logo.

Charlie Daniels was OK until he started making stupid statements about the President and showing us his idiotic Ted Nugent side. But it comes with the territory in the South, I'm afraid.

I have friends/colleagues living in Boston, Chicago, Denver, and NYC and they ALL agree with CD and Ted Nugent's feelings. Got nothing to do with "..the South." The only thing idiotic is your post.

At half the price. There's a reason for it

Yea you made my point. He sells out stadiums at half the price. That was just an example. I've seen the Chili Peppers, Godsmack, and some other headliners and they don't charge nearly as much. Maybe I'm just biased, I usually stick to rock concerts so maybe it's just my thinking that I wouldn't pay that much for a country concert because I'm not a huge fan of the genre. Other people are so they will pay that much. I've never seen Tool and they're one of my favorite bands so I would probably pay more for them if they ever tour again.

I'm curious as to how Inky gets a pass for wearing a Florida shirt in Gainesville. At least he played at UT. From all the KC hatred apparent on this thread, we should load the both of them up and ship them overseas somewhere. Also no performer "robs" his fans. If I could sell a ticket for $100, then you dang right I'd do it. He's not holding a gun to your head and making you go.

Here is what WBIR says ...

"Chesney will headline the three-act concert on the backstretch of Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday night, Sept. 9, 2016. The East Tennessee trio The Band Perry and Nashville's Old Dominion will also perform."

I don't know what backstretch means - I am not a race fan. :)
That would be the South Side of the Track!

Have no clue what your point is then since KC is able to sell out places for double the price. Do the better acts now command a lower price? The more popular you get the less money you try to make?

Speaking of gouging the fans, and it's only gouging if you pay the man.
The Eagles were the first band to set these ridiculous concert ticket prices with their Hell Freezes over Tour.

Once they set the precedent all other acts followed.

Here's you chance to see the Stones and Dylan for a mere $3500.00 and up.

Desert Trip

I'm sure he is a Vols fan. I like some of his music, I don't dislike the man. I just don't like the fact that he over charges his fans. I would never consider him a loyal Vol fan. He's a sponge, he soaks up the vibe to whatever city he is playing in for money. I can't really blame him for that.

I'm sorry, but isn't that the job of an entertainer? How can you blame him for appealing to varying audiences/fan bases when that's what sells tickets and albums?

Also, if you think concert tickets should never be over $100, you don't go to many shows. It has become darn near impossible to get decent seats to anyone worth seeing live without paying premium dollar to StubHub, Vivid, or an individual seller/agent.

Wait, you mean all those performers who sing rocky top while in Knoxville aren't really Vol fans?
