Kenny Chesney at Battle of Bristol

Buddy, that's not how this works lol. Kenny Chesney doesn't set the price for concert tickets. The managers, booking staff, and venue decide that price. I am in no way a fan of Kenny Chesney so please don't think I'm defending the guy. Just letting you know that's not how the music industry works.

I understand that, obviously there is a lot more behind the scenes then just him playing a show. I know that everybody gets a cut of the money, still why is his concert tickets so much compared to everyone else? He certainly isn't doing or saying anything to lower the price of his shows. I've been to all kinds of different concerts, and I've seen much bigger acts than him that don't charge nearly as much. For example I paid 65 to see Eminem at Metlife stadium, yet a Kenny show is between 125 and 150 at the Linc. You may be right, he may not have anything to do with it, still there are much bigger acts that don't charge any where near him. That's all I'm saying.

So I'm looking at upcoming concerts at "the Linc in Philly" as you called it (Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia for those that don't know what that means), and below are the artist/ticket price as advertised by TicketMaster. Note, Stubhub has some seats hitting in the thousands for some of these shows.

Beyoncé - $45 to $280 each
Guns N Roses - $45 to $250 each
Coldplay - $45 to $175 each
Kenny Chesney - $88 to $15,000 (luxury sweet on Stubhub)

So if you got 2 tickets for $250, you got a pretty good deal! 👍🏻

That show was about 5 years ago. Do you really think 250 is a good deal though? Idk I go to a lot of hard rock and metal shows that don't charge much more than 40 bucks. So maybe I'm just being cheap or spoiled. haha.

It actually makes more sense if it were 5 years ago, as that was a bit closer to his prime. I think the most I've ever spent was like $70 a ticket for Weezer. I looked up Blink 182 in Greenville the other day and I think it was around $85 a ticket.

Am I the only one that never found her the least bit attractive? She's got a face only a Pekingese could love.

That is why the old White Store's were nice enough to put your groceries in those old two ply bags. Perfectly functional for this scenario.

He should embrace his baldness and stop trying to cover it up with hats ALL the time. Maybe more people would like him then.

Here is what WBIR says ...

"Chesney will headline the three-act concert on the backstretch of Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday night, Sept. 9, 2016. The East Tennessee trio The Band Perry and Nashville's Old Dominion will also perform."

I don't know what backstretch means - I am not a race fan. :)

The backstretch is the part of the track between turns 2 and 3. The performers will be facing the Tennessee side. :salute:

Kenny Chesney was born in Knoxville and graduated just down the road from BMS at ETSU (Johnson City) in 1990.

Kenny is a fan of the local team associated with whatever city or campus is paying those outrageous ticket prices to see him play. The guy is literally robbing people without a gun and people still pay to see him.

My parents are fans of his, so my siblings and I bought them tickets for Christmas one year to see him play at the Linc in Philly. 250 dollars for 2 tickets. That guy should be ashamed of himself to charge his fans that much. The only band I would pay over 100 dollars for is the original Beatles and we all know that isn't happening.

You sound butthurt....

I wonder if that boy will ever make anything of himself.
:)
He has recorded 20 albums, 14 of which have been certified gold or higher by the RIAA. He has also produced more than 40 top 10 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, 28 of which have reached number one on the charts. Most of these have also charted high within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making him one of the few successful crossover country artists. He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Saw him in concert in Mississippi a few weeks ago. Dude sounds better live than he does on the radio, and I didn't even know that was possible. Best country singer going these days, and it's not even close.

I've heard the same thing about CS from multiple people. Pumped about seeing him at Bonnaroo next week.

Charlie Daniels was OK until he started making stupid statements about the President and showing us his idiotic Ted Nugent side. But it comes with the territory in the South, I'm afraid.

Glad I won't be there to see him or hear his god awful music! I however, will be firmly planted on my couch watching every second of the game.

That's why they make chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, peach, well..., you know.... Your opinion. Nothing more; nothing less. Glad you'll be doing what you want to do.

If it is in the stadium and he plays his full concert - I don't see how they will get it turned back around in time for the football crowd on Saturday.

This could end up being a big mess.

I could be wrong, but, doesn't Bruton Smith own BMS? If so, nothing associated with him ever turns out "..a mess." Regardless, Bristol does this often and there should be no problem.

I believe BMS picked the acts due to their ties to the area. Kenny from Ktown , The Band Perry from Greeneville and Old Dominion from southwest VA.

The market sets the price. If the tickets have a greater demand then the price will be higher. If they stop selling then the prices will drop. That's why Eminem was so much cheaper

Is that a Bama Jersey?

It's a Peyton Manning jersey the night Chesney played Neyland stadium and Peyton made an appearance and sang a duet....
