I would love it if she has a breakout game this year in terms of shooting in games. After all, this is really where basketball players and teams are evaluated. I imagine her struggles so far have been nerves, being put into games cold off the bench and expected to get some 3s in a few minutes of play, and that many of the defenders are faster than her. I do think latter point can be offset somewhat by developing a quick yet accurate shot.

In order to be classified as a great shooter you have to do it on the court. Plenty of time for her to do that only two games played.

she started this game and played significant minutes...some shooters are practice shooters and some are game shooters...so far I haven't seen a game-shooter....

Not throwing her under the bus, but if a player is known as and comes into the org with a label...they need to produce in that label

I know she loves Tennessee but Defense needs work maybe she can turn into a Sidney Spencer type player for us with more playing time.. Sidney was horrible on D until about the end of her Sophomore Season then it all seemed to click..

I have seen Madi hit 13 in a row,,,I will be tracking her percentages this winter season...I'd say Madi, on a good day in practice can hit 60+%,,But that is in practice,,,in games I'd say she will be around the 35-45% mark this year

I would love to see specific plays for her to get off a 3. There’s one play that sticks in my mind that Vic used to run for Victoria Vivians at Mississippi St, it was always so effective…..I think they used to call it an “elevator screen” but it almost ALWAYS got her a wide open look.

Yes, you can usually subtract 20 to 25 percent from catch and shoot practice to game conditions.

But she hasn't shown she is a shooter yet. Practice means nothing. High school means nothing. She has to produce on the court. It would be a HUGE help for the team to have even one player develop an outside shot that is better than average. Rae was that player before. Someone has to step up and be that person now.

Kellie has supposedly recruited a bunch who are better shooters, if not necessarily the sort of athletes we have had before. It is time for some of that to start showing up on the court.

The other thing is that you can have a player or two like Tess on the team, but they have to fill their role, and hers is to hit the open three. UT has had a long history of bringing in "three pt specialists" who just aren't very good at hitting threes. Rennie is the latest example of that. These players have too many other liabilities to be allowed on the court if they can't produce at what they are supposed to specialize in. We will see if Tess can break the tradition and actually produce for us. Let's hope so.

She's 7-21 career for the lady vols. That's hardly enough of a sample to draw any conclusions. Let's talk when she has 50 attempts.
