Kellie Harper discussion/debate thread [merged]

The crow went along with your absence of posts right after she was ranked #11 ….. There was NOTHING FROM YOU when the new rankings came out .

There was, but you apparently missed it. Surprising, given how closely you obviously follow my posts. You might need to sit with youcancallmeStalker for a while (speaking of out of control libido)...

What crow would that be? She hasn't played a minute of college ball yet. I hope she can fill the role of fans' anointed savior better than Striplin did...
You are a nasty piece of work. You will stoop to any level of cruelty to get your bizarre thrills. I can’t even imagine how pitiful your life must be if your entire purpose on here is to hurt innocent kids and their coaches and make folks just wanting to enjoy talking about their favorite team angry. I can’t begin to understand your motivations. So disturbed.

In year one Barnes went 15-19 with a 3* named Admiral and a bunch of blue collar kids. In year 3, it took him until his 3rd class to get a kid higher than a 3* and it was Pons. Year 3 his team also won the SEC Regular season. Barnes established a standard of winning with less before he got the "elite" type kids.
You left out Grant Williams.

I think that Coach Harper has done a great job this season. I thought some of the effort was lacking after Keyen went down with her injury but coaches can't make their players play hard. its unfortunate at this point with all the injuries that she can't even bench the ones that aren't hustling or are not playing with energy because there isn't enough horsepower. The video of her lashing on her team against Arkansas was enough to prove to me that she is a great coach and loves the University of Tennessee. Unfortunately, at this point I think that we will lose to LSU and get a hard fought win against Mississippi State. We may win one in the SEC tournament. I think that the selection committee come NCAA tourney time will screw the Lady Vols over by blaming their low seed on the injuries. I say we are at best a five seed and could be a 6 six seed by the time the bracket is revealed.

Full disclosure: Years ago, my brother told me that he registered on a board just to post crap and bait people. He thought it was hilarious to infuriate people; his tactic was to pretend to be a fan of, say, Alabama, and post on their board and report somne invented insults that "he had seen" from "Tennessee fans" and then laugh hysterically at the angry reactions. He would get away with it for awhile until the actual fans figured out that they were being played.

Obviously, he was a delight to grow up with since I was three years younger. I did learn empathy for the oppressed!

Thankfully, he has matured a lot, but just saying such folks exist.

Why take the bait? A full third of this thread is return cannon shots at the village idiot. Why waste your mental capacity while satisfying his aberrant need to troll? That’s why espn shut down commentary. It got to be a cesspool. Troll on troll correspondence, tying up bandwidth…

May I get you 2 soapboxes,,,so everyone can see you speak,,,

I can say that although I respond I don’t feed the troll since the big brave man has me blocked😂😂😂

Well, I'm not that good looking, but thanks anyway.

Speaking of stalking, have you discussed your odd thing about Kellie Harper with your therapist? Did he give you the Kellie doll to put pins in?

And, you have me on ignore. So how do you know what I'm posting? You don't actually have me on ignore. do you?

BTW, why do you hide your previous posts from us?

Let's put this recruiting situation in context. Is this year's class a bust -- Puckett, Miles, and Wyn? Puckett and Miles have been solid (with Puckett often times being more than that); Miles is playing the most demanding position on the court in a real trial by fire (particularly with Jordan out) .Wynn is further down the curve but has been showing positive progression (and let;s not forget she had an injury setback too). Next year (and time will tell), I think all three are going to be quality players.

Per last year's class, everyone wrote off Tess Darby. She has been showing more and more potential as the season goes on. Next year, she could be a really good player. Per Karo, some people are writing her off but I am betting she goes on Tess Darby trajectory.

Marta, injuries undercut her freshman season and this year as well. So, the book is open but she has an intriguing skill set.

If Justine is as good as advertised, Kellie has a blue chipper coming in.

So, for next season, the team will need some strengthening via the transfer portal and more recruits who can have bigger impact as Freshman (as we Justine will have). But Kellie has laid a promising foundation in the last two seasons.

If people are talking about the Barnes SEC Championship let's put that in perspective. That team was 13 and 5 in the SEC that season and shared the title with Auburn. If South Carolina was not in the SEC in women's basketball then the Lady Vols would be right in the hunt for the SEC title this season with their 10 and 4 record. Also true is that Barnes record in SEC play in the last three seasons is 30 and 19 while in her third season Kellie is 29 and 14. While I agree that we need to move it to a level where we can compete with SC in the next couple years the point is we can compete with everyone else in the league now. We are also one of the few teams that even has a win over them in the last three four seasons. It took Dawn five seasons to get to a level in the SEC where she could compete for the title and another two to three to get to the dominant position they are in now. I know we have to get there and the next two seasons are crucial in recruiting, but the people that think Kellie had not done a great job in her first three seasons after the destruction of the last coach are simply idiots totally and completely.

This is a logical take on the big-picture recruiting situation. Also, don't forget that Kellie had to recruit Key, Horston, and Rae to stay after Holly left, as Holly was the one who recruited them originally. So, to say that she "sucks" at recruiting (see above our favorite poster) is just trolling.

I was critical of Kellie when they lost at Auburn, after Keyen's injury. I was concerned with her ability to get the girls motivated and locked in, but I think Kellie had the girls ready to play against USCjr. They had no where near the number of turnovers that many expected. After losing your leading scorer, rebounder, leader in assists and steals, and only one day to make adjustments, they played tough. She's shown a lot of 'fire' on the sidelines lately and I appreciate her working both refs and players.

The problem is that we shouldn't have one person that leads the team in all statistical categories (Jordy). I'm not knocking on any individual players, but there is a lack of something - leadership by upperclassmen? confidence of freshmen??? We can see the leadership impact Keyen had on the team while playing. Dye looked so strong earlier in the season and now it seems her game has gone away some. Again, hard for us to determine as fans...maybe lost confidence? Too much pressure? Dealing with personal issues? Team chemistry issues? We may never know the real story.

Holly was able to bring in top 10 recruits consistently, the problem is that she was never really able to build off the talent to create the chemistry needed to dominate. Her players remember watching the LVs dominate under Pat's tenure; Kellie's recruits were too young to remember what happened 14 yrs ago, the last final four UT participated in. When the LVs went 19-1 I thought that they'd grab the attention of 2023 and 2024 recruits; just hope the recent struggles with losses and injuries don't impact that attention. To have them play on ABC this weekend was really good for recruiting.

I'm going to wait and see how things play out in terms of recruiting. It's obvious we need some higher ranked recruits and was glad to see Justine commit. Kellie knows she need more help at PG and in the post.Let's see how Kellie handles the transfer portal and the recruiting trail this off season and reserve judgment until she's had a little more success. A few tournament wins (SEC and NCAA) could go a long way...
