It's weird things fall apart when you think they are about to pick up. Watching Kellie's halftime rant I was really surprised. I didn't think she had that in her. Now...with all the losing I wonder if the rant was a bad thing. Who knows....but she has to recruit better depth. Losing Green and Horston are absolute killers...and top teams don't lose a couple players and have it completely destroy them. We know this team is going nowhere now. That isn't an indictment on Kellie necessarily...just that she has to recruit better depth AND make sure they are ready when the time comes. UCONN slipped when Bueckers went down but they aren't completely destroyed like the LVs are. I do feel the total implosion of this team reflects negatively on Kellie...let's be honest. Still rooting for the ladies to do something but just being realistic about the chances.

"Total implosion" is a massive overstatement. The LVs weathered the storm of losing Rae and having her come back in a reduced capacity; a loss which was preceded by the season ending injury to Marta who also figured to be a big player. The loss of Green created a bigger bump but they seemed to have made adjustments; then they just lost their leading scorer, rebounder, and assist making right before playing the top ranked team in the country and keeping the game reasonably competitive.

Sorry, this "hot take" is completely divorced from the realities of this season.

It took Dawn five seasons to get to a level in the SEC where she could compete for the title and another two to three to get to the dominant position they are in now. I know we have to get there and the next two seasons are crucial in recruiting, but the people that think Kellie had not done a great job in her first three seasons after the destruction of the last coach are simply idiots totally and completely.

If I recall Barnes SEC Championship that team was selected Preseason #13 in the SEC.

Yes that is the right year and the overall record in the SEC for his time at Tennessee is 72 and 50 or 59 percent winning percentage. He has finished 12th once, 9th once, and 8th once. Of course I'm glad he won the SEC co title with Auburn but his overall body of work has not been that impressive. This season is one of his three good seasons. He's had three good, three bad, and one in between.

Glad he won like I said but he kind of lucked into that one title with a 13 and 5 record. His overall body of work is not better than Harper's at this point in their tenures here. She has finished in the top four in the league all three seasons. He finished 12th and 9th and the year he finished first got put out in the round of 32 in the NCAA so those are the facts and still congrats on that title that was some great work just wish he could be consistent.

Trying to make parallels between the men's game and the women's game. His overall body of work has a championship, hers does not at this point. Right now I believe we all would celebrate this team "lucked" into a title.

I celebrate consistent improvement and the time to get to where you have a consistent program. Barnes may be getting there in year 7 think his best seasons are yet to come. He was a big name coach was a little surprised he could not win more from the beginning, but glad as to where he is now. Harper has done a great job to this point in her third season about 85 percent of the fans agree to this. AD White liked what she did in the first two seasons enough to give her a four year contract extension. I was very proud to see that and will see what happens in the coming seasons. She will have to get to the level of South Carolina one of the best two teams in the country to win a SEC Championship. Were already competing with everyone else in the league except them. If they were in another league except maybe the Pac 12 it would be the same for all the other schools in those leagues. We'll see if she can get there in the next couple of years no one expected her to do it in the first three years unless you were a very unreasonable person after where Holly took the program.

I swear I'll never understand some of you in this fanbase (or the trolls pretending to be fans). Kellie is damned if she do and and damned if she don't at this point. Some of you are never satisfied. You say she can't recruit, she goes out and makes attempts to improve the team and this player or that player isn't good enough.

Make it make sense.

Unless we get Aliyah Boston, Haley Van Lith, Haley Jones and Pao Pao to transfer, Kellie is a failure who can’t recruit. If we get a 4 star out of high school it should have been a 5 and when we get a 5 they’re overrated. It really is frustrating.
They can’t make it make sense because no matter what this staff does, they will find a way to complain.

Thats the whole purpose of their existence here. They are dedicated to inflicting as much misery on the fans as they can get away with. Nothing basketball related. After all, it must be acceptable behavior otherwise they would not be able to continuously do it.....right? It's not like they really share basketball knowledge with fans.
