Kavanaugh Confirmation

Very simple argument for withdrawing the Kavanaugh nomination:

(1) The integrity and legitimacy of the SCOTUS is tantamount. "Clearing" Kavanaugh's name is not.
(2) Kavanaugh's name, rightly or wrongly, is tarnished.
(3) Confirming him is not going to clear his name.
(4) However, confirming him will harm the integrity and legitimacy of the SCOTUS in the eyes of many, especially after his conspiratorial tirade today.
(5) Because the integrity and legitimacy of the SCOTUS is more important than clearing Kavanaugh's name (and confirming him will not clear his name), he should be withdrawn.
You are part of the problem. You're as pathetic as your democratic sesspool residing leaders. I feel sorry for how pathetic you are.

The corroborating evidence is actually in the negative column for Ford.

Basically there's nothing to move the needle and time to reach on another.

Going in Ford was your best shot.

Big time - eyewitnesses you named (accuser) refute your story. Hard to overcome that.

When he is confirmed, give it 6 months. This will all be gone and there will be another bone the dems throw out hoping it can get nawed on.

My point, no evidence, no need to clear his name.

I don't think the D would have sat on this had this timeline been moved back several months or even to last year.

They saw an opportunity to try to delay this enough or get it shot down so the process would have to be started with a new candidate after midterms when they may have more control over the vote.

That's been the objective. Had they come forward weeks ago all investigations could have happened or Trump could have pulled Kavanaugh and selected a new candidate to be voted on.

But that does them no good if it happens before midterms.

So then basically all anyone has to do to stop a nominee is accuse them of something that can't be proved?

I'm thinking of attending the next Democratic National Convention just so I can claim everyone in attendance groped me. I'm looking forward to shouting, "I'm a victim! You must believe me!"

Im beginning to think obama was a Russian plant.
The dem party has had a continual downward spiral since his 2nd term.

Was obama a Russian? (Insert hot mic statement he made about being re-elected)

Stepping aside from the jokes, why is it so hard for the Dems on the Judiciary Committee to accept that it is their role to conduct the investigation, not the FBI, and while the Republicans attempted to do that, they chose to sit out? Does their refusal to participate in the investigation not support the idea they were simply trying to delay the proceedings? I mean, they basically refused to do their job. If I were Ford, I'd be pissed at those Dems. I mean, if they took her accusations seriously, why didn't they use their own powers of investigation to participate?

Exactly. The dems have assaulted her for political gain.
Does Ford feel that way? Did she comment on being used and abused by the democrats when she had an open forum today? The right's selective indignation is both pathetic and hysterical. She was question multiple times about pressure or influence from the left and categorically denied it. However, it does make for the most palatable angle for the right wing. You guys have certainly lapped it up.
