Kavanaugh Confirmation

There has to be some sort of time limit in which she would act in order for us to have a bet. 2 months?

Sure, I'll take that bet. You're forgetting this is the hill the DNC has chosen to defend and die on if necessary. I'm not sure why you can't see the simple fact they will stop at nothing to put an end to this nomination.

I believe she has agreed to appear on Thursday.

I think that her reticence is natural tough situation and after receiving death threats. I am interested to hear her story.
I doubt she shows. They're excuse is no female lawyer can be used now. You just can't make this crap up unless you are a DEM.

Much like the right's embarrassing display with Obama's last nominee? SCOTUS nominations have gotten to be an embarrassing display of partisanship. Vet the person. I want someone of the highest ethical standing. I want someone intelligent. I don't have to agree with their interpretation of the constitution. Delay tactics and refusals to even hold hearings is disgusting.

Her testimony, under oath, is considered evidence. Its just like any under oath testimony. It is evidence. So is his testimony denying it. You want some sort of extraneous proof, like a photo or a video from 35 years ago, which is an impossible standard to meet.

But you know that..

As an attorney, would you take this woman's case to a criminal or civil court with just her testimony as evidence?

Blame the Biden Rule and Harry Reid and Ted Kennedy for that. They opened the door.

Which ends up being 35 year old he said/she said nonsense.

Is she credible? Did she tell her therapist about this event 6+ years ago? There is a lot that I want to hear. Completely discounting the story because she didn't report is not right either. Over the course of my life, I have met many women that disclosed sexual assaults to me. I'd say the majority of women have such a story. The vast majority (8/10) never report. It is not because it didn't happen.

Someone posted an interview of Ginsburg on this topic. I hate her politics but I thought she was spot on. In her opening reply she said in referring to her confirmation something like “the way it was then was right. The way it is now is wrong.” And I agree with Justice Ginsburg.

If there is a buck to be made...….it beats listening to the scanner and chasing ambulances.

Many, many cases are simply he said/she said. I am not just talking about sexual assault cases. But I find it disgusting that people simply discount the story because it wasn't reported timely. I'd wager that every single male on this board has a family member that was sexually assaulted that never reported it.

I agree.

I think the partisanship has gone over the tipping point and will only get worse with subsequent nominations. It's time to put a term limit on federal judgeships.

I bet there is a Police Report or arrest involved.

Democrats can’t win on the merits of their arguments, so they resort to a scorched earth strategy to try and stop their opposition. Bad for America

If you are talking about family members that were sexually assaulted. I just about guarantee you have family members that were sexually assaulted and you know nothing about the incident. It is pervasive and as the father of a 15 year old, it scares the crap out of me.

You can’t be serious in equating these two.
