Ask yourself which party has acted in a completely irrational manner since November 2016.

Now, it is possible it was an inside job. I'll allow you that. But...I dare say the possibility is as remote as me riding my unicorn holding DNA samples from Bigfoot and solid proof of the Kennedy conspiracy and Roswell cover up into work this morning.

It's an escalation, probably wouldn't have been this bad if Garland hadn't got snubbed in Capitol while trying to get interviews after his nomination . Simple majority votes... Blame and shame o'plenty.

The irony to his criticism is that my post was a counter-prediction to his factless prediction that this will be a stain on the court, and independent America's view of it going forward. He seems to be completely discounting the optics of the Dem's actions on this, and presuming that centrist America is stupid. We are not, by and large.

The only one of those that might do something is cannot become a lobbyist after the term is up. It would make being a Congressperson or Senator less attractive if they couldn't get involved in lobbying after that. But "lobbyist" is a big term. It would be a really common thing for them to take lobbyist-type jobs after their term and claim they aren't involved in lobbying.

The others, especially term limits or low pay, do nothing to solve the real problem. None of them are there for the pay or benefits anyway.

Parse it any way you choose. I'm not claiming the Rs are saints. I'm speaking to optics, since you were speaking to optics. This blew up in the D's face. The optics are horrible and getting worse by the hour, the more they bluster and threaten over this.

I'm not going to argue something I can't prove, but there is zero chance this was a "Democratic" plan. It just defies reason. The retort I predict would be "When have the Democrats shown themselves to be reasonable? "

If someone painted "Die Republicans" on Kavanaugh's house, there is no way it could be a ruse, right?

Wouldn’t matter if garland was on or not # Resistance . We are down to the mid terms the Dems feel like they have to take back congress or else and every tactic seems to be in play . My prediction is they take the house and Rs maintain control of the senate and this hot mess will turn in a bonfire with nothing getting done . Dems will be so preoccupied with impeaching Trump that they will whip up the R base and Trump is re-elected . Just my 2 pennies worth .

So it’s ok for Dems to make up the rules as they go along? It’s almost like they want to change rules when it benefits them then change them back when they don’t.

It's a terrible look for Dems.. Most people saw what they wanted to see, though. I'm curious to see the effect on the the midterms.

In short .. the Dems can’t back down and after the hearing yesterday , the Rs won’t back down . So yup it’s going to get nasty
