Kamara Showing Out

AK numbers were just not that impressive. 39 inch vert is nice, 15 reps at his 215 is pretty weak, 40 time was somewhat underwhelming. Drills were so so. Apparently he has the iq and other intangibles so glad that's going for him

39 inch vertical is outstanding, 10'11" broad jump is outstanding. 40 time was ok, nobody cares about a rbs bench press. He was already getting effusive praise and attention before the combine and today's overall strong performance did nothing but solidify him. And as you said, great in interviews with his football IQ and other intangibles. Thrilled for him.

Dobbs has never been caught from behind. Kamara has been caught several times.

Dobbs has less initial burst than Kamara but better long range speed.

I think he runs a faster 40.

He was caught from behikd on his big run at Florida in 2015, left sideline. He has excellent speed for a qb and he's an outstanding athlete in general. But let's not make him out to be Michael Vick here. I'm guessing he runs in the low 4.6s tomorrow.

UT probably didn't notice, since they chose not to show up against Bama.

Bamawriter, I don't mind having rivals here discussing football but you have no buisness being in the FF trying to contradict everything that's posted.

If your going to, don't get your feathers ruffled when posts come flying back at you.

More from Bucky Brooks...

Interesting observation... McCaffrey, Kamara and few others ran routes from the slot at the end of the RB workout. Both looked natural @ WR

Nothing ruffled, friend. But thanks for the advice. I'll run my posts by you from now on.

No you dont have to but like I said you shouldn't be in the FF trying to contradict everyones statements or opinions.

I remember a couple of weeks back when D4H said Kamara would go in the first round? Do you remember what you said? I'll give you a chance to answer that since you're here to just post with us Vol fans.

I'm all for hating on Bama fans....but no way can you regulate someone posting on a rivals board who is well within rules. I suggest you just get over it

That was expected. The Pats might trade all there picks just to get both guys. They would score 60 points a game then.

I said no way in hell. I have been saying second round for a while now. I still think so. His 40 times did nothing to change my mind.

Did you think you were about to get a gotcha moment?

SIAP...last sentence ticks me off

3. Alvin Kamara gaining steam*
Former Tennessee running back, Alvin Kamara, had heads turning his way during the vertical and broad jump portions of the workouts Friday.*Posting position-highs in both measurables, Kamara lept out of the gym with a 39.5-inch vertical and took off 131 inches in the broad jump.
Additionally, the former Vols running back ran a respectable official 40 time of 4.56 seconds, causing NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock to call him a “bigger LeSean McCoy.” Now, unlike some draft experts on television, Mayock isn’t given to hyperbole, and he has said he thinks Kamara is a potential first-round talent in the past.
It’s interesting that a player who was never a featured back in college is gaining this type of momentum. In two seasons at Tennessee, Kamara carried the ball a total of 210 times, gaining 1,294 yards at a 6.2-yards-per-carry clip. He also proved a capable receiver, tallying 74 catches for 683 yards while totaling 23 touchdowns in his sophomore and junior campaigns.
It’s going to be fascinating to see if a player utilized so little on the ground at college ends up as a high draft pick in April.

Honestly this is my thinking also...you can always find value RBs

The more I look at RB class, the more convinced I am I wouldn’t take one of these guys in the first round. They don’t decide games anymore.

Draft one in third. Beat him up. Run him into the ground. Let him go. Draft another. Cruel. So don’t let you sons grow up to be RBs
