Kalen DeBoer expected to be next Alabama Head Coach

Here's the fun thing. Norvell and Sarkisian got huge pay bumps yet DeBoer was the "favored" candidate?
" Great to be at FSU" "Just getting started (at Texas)". Who's lying to whom?
Jimmy Sexton wasn’t going to pass on this chance to get his clients (thus himself too) a raise. This job opening was worth its weight in gold.

No doubt. But was it really a true job opening for Sark and Norvell? Or a pseudo-job opening when DeBoer was in the fold all along?

Probably a bad hire. He has no ties to the SEC. As soon as he loses to a combination of Tennessee/LSU/Auburn he’s toast. It’ll be weird to see a mediocre Alabama.
So if Tennessee had hired Chris Petersen sometime in the last 10-12 years you would have considered it a bad hire? After all, he had no ties to the SEC.

This "no ties to the SEC" is a false disclaimer. Last time JH had SEC affiliation was seven years ago (2017).

Ok, that means the UW job has to be filled. They will want to hire a fairly big name with the B10 move.

Still leaves Michigan up to have to replace Hairball also.

Sorry, my BVS is expecting one of thes e Domino's to somehow hit the Vols at any moment.

These late moves around the chess board always make me nervous.

Whether you realized it or not, you just argued against yourself. Heupel does have SEC ties and a history of recruiting in the south. Much different than DeBoer. Plus DeBoer has limited experience in P5.

"Recruiting in the south" does not equate to "SEC ties" to have SEC ties, you need to coach in the SEC which he did. 7 years ago. Point being, if JH can do it, then why not DeBoer. Don't delude yourself, 'Bama ain't dumb and they know, especially these days, that having SEC ties is a false disclaimer. Or did they just ****up themselves big time.

My bet is on 'Bama being 'Bama, sharp and on target.

I remember when Fulmer hired Pruitt because he wanted a coach with SEC ties
