Dumb. McKenzie got bulldozed several times per game. He even got it in the out of conference games.
Tennessee junior DI Kahlil McKenzie suffered a season-ending injury (torn pectoral muscle) just six games into the 2016 season, limiting him to just 152 defensive snaps. In that span, he earned the No. 2 ranked overall grade (78.6) among returning Power 5 interior defenders with less than 200 defensive snaps.
McKenzie also ranked No. 2 against the run among that same group of interior defenders, posting an 80. 4 run defense grade.
Though his pass-rush repertoire is limited, McKenzie picked up a bull rush pressure once every 18.7 rushes, which ranked No. 1 in the draft class. He also ranked No. 1 in pass-rush productivity from a two-point stance at 26.8.
From Pro Football Focus. Now, will you all shut up?
Please direct me to the tape then.
You guys keep saying he got bulldozed and pushed back constantly yet have no games to direct me to.
I watched every Vols game last year except for the Vandy game. In almost every game I saw, he was stout. Especially early on in the game when he and the rest of the defense were fresh. Later on in games he might have been pushed back because of fatigue since our offense couldn't stay on the field.
But I saw a lot of good from Kahlil for most of the year. The most surprising aspect of his game was he got some good bull rushes up the middle on 3rd down that pressured the QB.
As I said many times in this thread already, you guys will be surprised by how high he's drafted. IMO 3rd round is very likely. And I'm sure once it happens, you guys will say it was his father that got him drafted.
5.43 yards per rushing attempt allowed is the 2nd worst average by an SEC team in the last 10 years. Only 2016 Arkansas (5.91) gave up more yards per rushing attempt in the last ten years by an SEC team
No other SEC team in the last ten years allowed 3,000+ rushing yards in a season
Lets make a paypal bet on what round you think this bum will go in. He will be lucky to get drafted period. And Im not counting the raiders.
Not dominated. Just tubby and out of shape. You guys keep citing stats. NFL scouts look at tape. Show me video where KMac gets dominated?
Cause all those bad stats could still happen even with KMac doing his job really well. Remember football is a team sport. There are 10 other guys on the field. Also given how putrid Tennessee's offense was and how many injuries the team suffered, then fatigue had a huge effect on those stats. I don't know how the numbers break down, but just going off what I saw while watching the games, I think if you broke down those defensive stats by half you would see a lot more rushing yards given up in the second half than the first half. And that was largely because of fatigue and a lack of depth.

Never saw that good of ability in him...
Playing in Pruitt's defense for a year would've made him better imo...
Just never seen anything that shows he can play in the league besides the measurables...
You have been directed to view the Mizzou game... go there and watch some tape.
Here... have some popcorn on us.opcorn:
This young man did not show as advertised.
A bum? Why are you bad-mouthing Kahlil? What has he ever done to you?
All Kahlil has done is give his all for Tennessee. I don't get why some fans hate on our own players simply because they decide to do what is in their career's best interest.
