I never hear Fuente's name brought up as a possible HC, but this guy is a winner, every where he Coaches, and that includes Tennessee, Memphis St., now at Virginia Tech, and winning there. Just because you have not coached in the SEC, does not mean you can't coach in the SEC. High quality Football Coaches, are just that, no matter where they're Coaching. Just a thought.

I believe you are correct, but I think their teams only met one time, 2016 when Fuente was HC (and still is) at Virginia Tech, it was Fuente's first year at VT, and he took the school to a Bowl game that year. He career record speaks volumes about his coaching ability. He is a real football coach, anyway you slice it. He may not be the right choice for UT, my overall point is, there are a lot of High Quality Football Coaches in the USA, just because they haven't coached in the SEC, does not mean they can't coach, and win in the SEC. Bringing up Fuente (I think his overall PCT winning ain't bad, and as HC about half the time he gets his school to a bowl game) is just one name, but I'm sure you get my point. Our next coach needs to be a seasoned winning Football coach, and he doesn't have to be from an SEC school. The SEC is without a doubt the 'Cadillac' of all the conferences, but not as much as we use to be. It used to be, the worst team in the SEC could whip the hell out of any sunbelt, or WAC, or PAC team, etc., GS showed us that train has left the station.

He was one of the names floating around during the last search. I don't think he's all that good. He's not exactly setting the world on fire over at VT. They just lost to Boston College to open their season.

Fuente will NEVER EVER coach at UT. He was one of Gary Pattersons assistants that Hammy specifically called out as not was good enough for SEC football....

At this point, as miserable as it is, I prefer to stay the course with this coach and see what happens. If we give him "due time," and it doesn't work out, we'll be more attractive to any proven coach. OK "any" might not be accurate but "a" proven coach. I wish nothing but the best for Pruitt and staff.

He's a winner at VT? Didn't they lose to old dominion last season? 🤔
