Just watched LSU TD run and got me thinking

Alvin Kamara with any of Fulmers lines in the 90's would have made Henrys rushing numbers look pedestrian.

He still got run down by a bowling green player though he’s just got crazy balance. I stand corrected though another one id forgotten

You know some on here think Kamara was superman and the best in UT history. Surely he was the fastest RB too.

My response was that I dont remember us having a RB that could leave defenders behind as an answer to your question. Im not talking about Chandler. Im simply saying we have not had a RB in a while who has had game speed to burn DBs.
reggie cobb and johnnie jones could. J. Lewis would smoke most of 'em being as big as he was.
PS: Travis Stephens was super-fast

Lol. Its kind of sad you cannot realize how good Kamara could have been. Thenguys was one of the best RBs we have had in awhile. Great balance, vision, power and elite speed.

Am I completely wrong in thinking hardesty had some run away runs? Can’t seem to find anything. Guess I’m makin up history over here. I’m gonna go with Riggs as well then.

Kamara is cat quick, 1step acceleration and runs w good balance and leverage. But his top end speed was not the greatest.

As far a Kamara goes, I had no doubt in his ability on the field. He has outstanding vision, balance and pure talent as a runner, though the question was about top end speed, which he does not have. The player that was most exciting to watch while here recently is without a doubt Cordarrelle Patterson. He made everyone look dumb.

I saw this clip in the highlights and this is what my deciding factor was. No running back I know of that we have had in the last 10 years that could do this.

We had Chandler "in the last 10 years."

But the play was created by Miami safety tipping off blitz on the right side, QB audibled to a run to the left side. line blew a hole and once RB into the open field, no safeties there.

Will Guarantano be free, at some point, to do some audibling?

Too bad YouTube wasn’t around when some of our RB greats from the past we’re playing. In regards to Chandler, if he did in fact suffer a concussion then we need to keep our fingers cross because you never how a player comes back from that type of injury.
