Just some news that I thought I would pass on

You guys simply have no clue about what went on after Kiffin left.

Really?
1) I have been a UT fan for about 50 years, and have followed the program closely.
2) When Fulmer and Kiffen were HC, I swapped emails with them from time-to time.
3) I have emailed Dooley several times.
4) Also, while Mike Hamilton was AD, we swapped emails regularly (especially concerning the firing of Fulmer, hiring of Liar Kiffen, and the hiring of Dooley).
5) I have also emailed Dave Hart, but he has never shown the courtesy of returning a single communication - though I have always shown respect and civility in my emails to him. I'm not bad-mouthing Hart, just stating facts.

Now, what do you know about the situation after Kiffen's departure that no one else could possibly know???

By the way, Vonore, TN is a beautiful area. I grew up in the Cleveland,TN area.... and love the Big Orange as much as anyone. Go Vols ><>

If this happens, we're going to lose a game in November ... maybe Troy? Vandy? Kentucky could basically have a winning streak on us ... I'd be afraid the players would fold

That's exactly what happened when Fulmer's firing was announced around mid-season, i.e., Wyoming.

Yeeeaaahhh....if you are using that same tone with Dave, I can see why he is ignoring you. He returns my phone calls in a prompt fashion.

After Kiffin left the program was in dissaray. We tried to go after good caliber coaches ie. Muschamp and probably others like him. We even offerred Cutcliffe he said no because we were unwilling to pay the buyouts on Kiffins left over coaches and take Cutcliffe's staff in its entirenty. Unfortunately that left us with the option of going after an unproven coach. Dooley had the pedigree and the integrity that made him seem to be a good option. He might still pull out a good season and secure his job for another year. I am doubtful of this. However, the program is not in dissaray now and if it is decided to move on from Dooley we will be able to land a good hire. If that is the case you can thank Dooley for bringing a lot of stability back to the program. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

Coffeycountyvol... I agree with all you said, except, I do not believe Dooley had the D-1 head coaching experience to come to a program like UT's. He did clean up Kiffin's mess, he did salvage a good recruiting class that could have been disastrous after Kiffin's departure, he has ran a clean program with no NCAA mess, and he has brought a sense of integrity back to the program. For all these things, all VOL fans should be very appreciative to Dooley.

Also, regarding other SEC level experienced coaches that were available when Kiffin left... we had a very short time-frame to find a replacement due to the National Signing Day being so near. However, we might have landed a more highly qualified coach if Hamilton had been willing (or able, whichever the case might be) to shell out the needed $$$.

Right now, a top tier SEC caliber coach is going to demand between 4 and 5 million. Question is, will Hart and our "prominent donors" be willing to shell out that kind of $$$ now (if Dooley is fired)?

And don't forget about the the possible NCAA violations. Not many coaches will brave that. Urban Meyer being an exception but I do believe he is making bank and had a very tallented roster to start out with.

Your point is well noted...

By the way, I used to spend a lot of time in Manchester while my cousin was assistant pastor of a church there. I especially enjoyed running around the Old Stone Fort park. Since I'm retired from the Army, I also enjoyed running around on Arnold AFB and deer hunting there. Yeah, Coffey County is a beautiful area. ><>

Mr. Harris, if you will actually read my post, you will note that I mentioned communicating in a civil manner with Hart. Also note that I did not badmouth him, like many others have done in other threads. It could be, that he is simply too busy to communicate with a plain, old, ordinary, everyday fan... I certainly do not intend any offense in my reply... especially to an apparent "insider." Blessings ><>

I like your opinions you posted earlier, and I would say that I have to agree that Dooleys D-1 experience was absolutely lacking. We took a shot in the dark and it doesn't look like it will pan out. I was actually at old stone Fort just the other day for a hike. Also if you like this area you should try Rutledge Falls or Machine Falls out. They make for some nice outings.

I really don't think they will fire him in the season. Who is going to replace him? Chaney? Sunsari? Kiffey Kakes brother in law? I just don't see it happening until the season is over.

Who's been filling in while he's been out with a broken hip ?

I am also a poster on VQ.COM and there is a very reliable poster over there that when he mentions something, he is normally correct. He stated that if Dooley loses to SC Haslam has agreed to pay Dooley's buyout and the first years salary to our new head coach. If they lose to SC Dooley will be fired on Sunday or Monday. Take it all as you wish. :hi:

It must be nice to be this rich...

No, unfortunately I do not hunt. Something I've always wanted to try but never really find the time to do it. But I have been to Columbia a few times and its a pretty nice area.

The Haslam part of this aside, Chris Low and just about all the other media personalities have hinted that USCe is a must win for Dooley. Not sure if they will fire him immediately if UT looses(There I go again having hope). But I believe Hart has a list ready and has sent feelers out as well. This has also been hinted at by some sports writers.

:crazy::crazy::crazy:If he's heard this rumor I think we might see James Stone in at QB. Tiny and Bray playing wide out. Dooley will be home packing and investing his 5 mil.

Who is to say that Gruden is the answer? Has he ever been a head coach in college? Can he recruit? Can he manage a college program? Just asking.

Who knows? But I'm willing to find out. One advantage is almost every kid in America knows who Gruden is and it doesn't hurt to have a Super Bowl ring.

A-Dooley, Miles and Saban all visit a 5 star recruit

B-Gruden, Miles and Saban all visit the same 5 star recruit

Which option gives us the best shot at getting the 5 star recruit?

its tough to see how this thing will play out, especially if your new to the mb thing.

having now been through four coaching changes....eight if you count pearl, buzz, and o neil. this is all the usual pomp and circumstance.

put cher boots on its gonna be a wild ride!

if history tells tales, id put the chances of george washingtons ghost taking office again over john gruden walking the sideline at utk.
