At this point what difference does GAST make? It happened move on. Tennessee is on the hook for a lot of money not including whatever hire they’re going to make. Whether it’s bargain or not.

I’d rather take the lumps and see where things fall and not have a revolving door at HC again.
This is what’s gonna happen. Makes zero sense to do anything other than stay with Pruitt through at least 2020 imo. Everybody’s emotional right now, including me. But if you step back and take two seconds to look at the situation like an adult, you know that cutting Pruitt loose right now makes no sense and only hurts the program. He needs this year and next and then let’s evaluate. It’s childish to say he needs to go right now.

So that would be inaccurate in what way? There aren't many teams good enough to beat Bama. That's kinda why they are in the title mix every dang year.

It’s inaccurate because more times than not he goes out of his way to give them a reach around.

Pruitt and company WILL not be fired during or after this season...
AD Fulmer knows we need stability right now with the program and firing this coaching staff would send a message to all the coaches out there that we are a fan base that if you do not win now you will be fired..NO good coach would touch this job if that happened...
WE have to give this coaching staff TIME....
I know it hurts but that is just the reality of it...
GBO and get better every game....
I AM WITH Y'ALL COACHES AND TEAM....

This is what 99% of the game has been saying from Day 1 @ Pruitt. The problem is the terrible GS loss followed by the BYU loss.

Then all the snowflakes flip out and want to completely overthrow the entire process. If people were throwing these childish fits drunk on Sat night or even Sunday morning, then I might give them a 1/2 pass. But in the middle of the week you've got to put on your big boy pants and realize that we are in the PROCESS of a REBUILD in the most difficult conference to do it. It takes time.

A lot of immature fans have never been trained on patience or laboring long term toward a goal and it shows. Many missed thier chance to color thier hair pink or blue, put on 100 pounds, get fuzzy in their assurance of their gender, and go do a screaming fit sit-down protest over something they do not understand.

Don’t worry you’ll receive your lumps and more, remember, you ask for it

When it comes to Paul, it's simply a matter of not feeding the troll.

Back away slowly.
He was ready to proclaim Pruitt SEC coach of the year after the KY game last year...obviously BEFORE tanking Miz and Vandy

The line got some push downfield. Gray and Chandler get squat without it. Be happy about it. That was a top 15 defense, last season.

Agree. There were gaping holes opened on many run plays. And several other bright spots.... but a QB in the SEC thinking he's safe for 10 seconds every snap means a loss.

We'll beat someone. We're probably a 4-8 team, but I could see this team putting together a complete game or two and pulling off an upset. I just don't think it will happen enough to make us happy or get to a bowl game this season.

The thing about it is, though, if you take the best performances of everyone on this team, we're capable of beating almost anyone other than Georgia and Alabama. If JG plays like he did versus Auburn in that BYU game, we win. If the defense plays like they did against BYU when they played Ga State, we win easy. But we can't seem to get everyone playing well at the same time; we're very inconsistent.

The one glaring weakness is that our O-line has still never shown much with run blocking. Sure, we put up 200+ yards against BYU, but it was mostly the playmaking abilities of Chandler and Gray that got us that; not the O-line blocking. Hopefully, we see some improvement there as the season goes along. Can't be a winning team if you can't win those 4th and 1 foot battles on the line.
I just can't put the BYU game on the O-Line. Regardless of what one might think they are vastly improved from last year. Chandler didn't have to make too many cuts to elude tacklers. He was hitting those off-tackle plays with a lot of space most of the night. I will agree that the O-line needs to get better in establishing the run game between the guards but on that same token, we need a bigger back as well. Sad that our 6'4 214lbs QB can't sneak 1 yard, regardless of the blocking. Read the proper gap and commit hard and you get at least a yard with his size. Personally, I feel the O-line is not as glaring as the misreads and timeliness of our QB. The O-line provided pretty decent pockets to throw from throughout the night. Good QB play can keep a defense off balance further establishing a better run game.

The first rule of watching Finebaum is to not look directly AT Finebaum. There is no recovering from that.

We'd have won had our QB actually did his job correctly found his open WRs instead of checking down if the first read wasn't there. We should've been up by 10 going into the final minutes of play and then the Taylor/Warrior debacle wouldn't have been an issue.

Alas, our QB has two reads, his main target he has decided he is going to throw to when he comes out of the huddle, and then to the check down. We won't win any games with that kind of crap play.
Needs third read- throw it out of the stadium. Anything to avoid a negative play.

Who are we going to win against? Chattanooga? Cause I don't see us beating ANY SEC team. We can't even beat a 2-10 GA State Sunbelt team.

Yep and that GState team is 2-0 and may be 3-0 if they "Upset" WMich at Kalamazoo. And UT should be 2-0 too. 3 plays away. (And that's saying a lot with all the mistakes they've made).

I really wish the websites would just ban all the negative BS being spread by all of the armchair QBs within our fanbase. Listen, we had BYU beat if Taylor or Warrior do the job they were taught. We would be 1-1 with a bad loss the previous week. None of these people have been in the locker room to know about the culture they like to talk about. The team is fighting, the coaches are fighting, and the fanbase is letting them down. Nobody within Volnation wants success more than they do, so let the process play out. You have a guy who is a Football Coach for Life, at the helm and he will produce if you give him a chance! You are rebuilding in the SEC - the toughest conference in America!

GO VOLS!!!

Feel free to leave anytime buttercup.

Not sure what someone did last year applies to this yr since they lost 7 starters..Nor were they a top 15 defense

Finebaum is Finebaum. I don’t think he’s for or against Tennessee. His job is to get and keep discussions going and he’s obligated to throw a little gas on the fire in order to do so. Don’t care about him one way or the other. I rarely listen to him anyway because he’s mostly boring. Only these players and coaching staff can change the things that are said about the program.

JG needs to learn the magic of counting to 2, maybe 3 and then let it fly. OB if he has to, but for the love of Mike, don’t take a sack.....or worse.

When a team is winning, he loves them. When they slip, he is the first to shank the kidney. Vols just manage to stay in the shank category. Nature of the beast until our team changes its trajectory.
