Just got back from Montana...

I hope they come to play the game! Are we rolling over for Alabama? What the fans think and what the players think are two differnet things. I hope our players expect to play in Atlanta! If they don't we are in trouble.

Star struck? What, is Dolly Parton going to be there?

According to one of their mods it is about 2:1 predicting Ut to win..Not a "few loudmouths"...

What do you expect? To some predicting your team to lose is a sign of being a poor fan. Don't understand why you guys are taking it so personal.

OK. Your right. It won't play a factor though. As huge as your stadium is it won't effect the focus or performance of our guys. The crowd noise may effect the offense but that's it. Nobody will be star struck, just appreciative of the opp to play against an SEC team in an SEC environment.

This is a direct quote from a post on egriz. Scoob conviently left off the other part of the post. The part that shows the 41 people predicting a griz loss.

Nice spin factory you guys have going here.

I'm pretty sure none of them really believe Montana will win 56-8.

From Montana's site...Players are probably going to be star struck for the first quarter or so. The Fans don't play the game...

The Grizzlies have two practices Friday ahead of a light Saturday practice, and then the rest of Saturday off. Classes begin Monday, along with the regular practice schedule. The Vols of the Southeastern Conference wait.

"It's going to be an awesome experience," Johnson said. "We don't have anything to lose - we just need to go down there and play our game and see what happens."

"It'll be 105,000 people or something like that," said defensive tackle Bryan Waldhauser. "It's something you'll never forget, probably. I expect it to be one of the coolest experiences of my life, but I also expect us to go down there and win.

Sounds to me that they know they are playing the big boys to me. Not that scrub fcs crap.

My biggest concern with Montana is something DD pointed to in his interview. Montana wins. Winning is a habit and an attitude. When you win alot, you think you can win them all. Whoever plays you has to take it from you.

That said... they've only played three FBS schools since 2000- lost all three. The last one was a laugher vs a 6-7 Iowa team in '06.

No, its because Michigan is viewed as a way better program than Ole Mis and VT. In fact, I think most people viewed the VT loss as basically simply proof of what we all already thought, which is that the ACC was the weakest of the major conferences.

If Montana beats UT, it would be noticed, but not talked about for more than a few days.

Heck, if FAU beats Florida, the story would be half how far Florida has fallen so fast and then kudos to Schnellenberger. Not even it would have the legs of an ApState beating Michigan.

Michigan's fallen off the wagon quite a bit. They aren't nearly the competitive powerhouse they used to be, despite how much ESPN LOVES to talk about them.

Same for Notre Dame.

Actually we are 3-3 vs FBS since 2000. As for the Iowa game the score was 17-7 half way through the third quarter. I promise you no one in Iowa was laughing at that point. In the end Iowa's depth won so. This is similar to what I expect to see vs UT.

As for Iowa's record...it is not unlikely that UT will have a similar record this year.

We've had worse losses.... including when the greatest QB of all time was here, soooo I'd say it's possible.

They beat Western State 73-2 in their opener last year
:mega_shok:

Either you just made that team up, or it really doesn't matter, because I'm pretty sure MOST people have never even heard of the powerhouse that is western state.

Um pretty sure most of this fanbase will laugh until their jaws hurt at the beatdown that WILL take place in less than a week. Spin it any way that you have to so that you can sleep better each night. What are you going to say after montanada gets destroyed? The players had the flu? Those mean ol Tennessee boys cheated to win? Save your passive aggressive jabs. We aren't your wife or kids bro.

Who were the other three? I just looked again and didn't see them.

OK. Guess we will see. The difference between Iowa and UT is the same as between the Big 10 and SEC generally. Iowa has big OL's and front 7's and pretty decent speed at the skill positions and DB. The SEC has big OL's and front 7's with very good speed and skill players with elite speed and athleticism.

As for Iowa's record...it is not unlikely that UT will have a similar record this year.

LOL@U. Yes. That's a possibility. But look at the difference in competition. The best team on Iowa's schedule that year by far was a tOSU team that was absolutely crushed by Florida.

I said earlier that it could be a game until the end. It is just as likely that it will be over early. UT has to leverage their overall talent and especially their very significant speed advantage.

3 games vs Idaho.(yes, they are FBS. they moved up the same year as Boise State)

This is true. I hope that is not the case, but it very well could happen.
