From Montana's site...Players are probably going to be star struck for the first quarter or so. The Fans don't play the game...
The Grizzlies have two practices Friday ahead of a light Saturday practice, and then the rest of Saturday off. Classes begin Monday, along with the regular practice schedule. The Vols of the Southeastern Conference wait.
"It's going to be an awesome experience," Johnson said. "We don't have anything to lose - we just need to go down there and play our game and see what happens."
"It'll be 105,000 people or something like that," said defensive tackle Bryan Waldhauser. "It's something you'll never forget, probably. I expect it to be one of the coolest experiences of my life, but I also expect us to go down there and win.
No, its because Michigan is viewed as a way better program than Ole Mis and VT. In fact, I think most people viewed the VT loss as basically simply proof of what we all already thought, which is that the ACC was the weakest of the major conferences.
If Montana beats UT, it would be noticed, but not talked about for more than a few days.
Heck, if FAU beats Florida, the story would be half how far Florida has fallen so fast and then kudos to Schnellenberger. Not even it would have the legs of an ApState beating Michigan.
My biggest concern with Montana is something DD pointed to in his interview. Montana wins. Winning is a habit and an attitude. When you win alot, you think you can win them all. Whoever plays you has to take it from you.
That said... they've only played three FBS schools since 2000- lost all three. The last one was a laugher vs a 6-7 Iowa team in '06.
Actually we are 3-3 vs FBS since 2000. As for the Iowa game the score was 17-7 half way through the third quarter. I promise you no one in Iowa was laughing at that point. In the end Iowa's depth won so. This is similar to what I expect to see vs UT.
As for Iowa's record...it is not unlikely that UT will have a similar record this year.
Who were the other three? I just looked again and didn't see them.Actually we are 3-3 vs FBS since 2000.
OK. Guess we will see. The difference between Iowa and UT is the same as between the Big 10 and SEC generally. Iowa has big OL's and front 7's and pretty decent speed at the skill positions and DB. The SEC has big OL's and front 7's with very good speed and skill players with elite speed and athleticism. As for the Iowa game the score was 17-7 half way through the third quarter. I promise you no one in Iowa was laughing at that point. In the end Iowa's depth won so. This is similar to what I expect to see vs UT.

3 games vs Idaho.(yes, they are FBS. they moved up the same year as Boise State)Who were the other three?
It is just as likely that it will be over early. UT has to leverage their overall talent and especially their very significant speed advantage.
