Jumbotron Update

i don't know if this has been covered yet or not, but how will the voltron compare in size to texas' godzillatron? i know at the start of the thread it was speculated that the voltron would be bigger, but has anyone found out the actual dimensions for proof?

I think what they did is kept it the same size, but instead, got rid of the adds and made the whole thing one huge screen. Adds I guess will be displayed while your watching Berry pick up a INT for 90 yards and a touchdown.

It will not be bigger than Texas's Godzillatron. It will be the largest in the SEC though.

I posted all of the measurements somewhere earlier in this thread.
unfortunate... but i guess everything IS bigger in texas. :ermm:

Found my post from earlier:

Currently standing:
Auburn - 30'x74'
Arkansas - 30'x107'
Miss State - 47'x111'

And currently building this summer:
Florida - 30'x137' and 30'x94'
LSU - 27'x80' (link to picture)
Tennessee - 41'x127'

And Godzillatron is reportedly 134'x55'.

good gravy...Have you ever seen the Dallas Cowboys' Billion dollar megastadium?

The company that hired my company for this job did THAT job and it is incredibly, fantasticly HUGE. My PM showed me pictures and I can only imagine the challenges. They did (2) screens larger than this facing opposite each other along with (2) smaller but still huge screens facing the other (2) directions and then hung it from the ceiling of the billion dollar megastadium in the center of the whole thing. The structure was so large they put a bathroom in it for the service guys, cause they were going to be in there for a while!

even though im not a cowboy fan, id love to see that stadium for myself. I watched something on GAC that featured someone doing a concert at the stadium and it is simply amazing. The "jumbotron" there is a million dollars by itself and the players have there own private elevators. Simply crazy...

I want to say George Strait had the first concert there.

Yeah, my wife called a minute ago I said, "I'll call you back, I'm talking to my friends at the moment. I can't put VOL Nation off, they need to know!" I've talked to you guys more than my family in the last month.

same for me but more like over the last 6 months
VN is like heroin

also, skymonkey, you should have installed this thing last year. it rains more in a week this year than it did all of last year.

My math skills are lacking but doesnt that make ours the 2nd largest in the SEC behind MS?

I agree. The fact that our tron will be showing Berry/Brown highlights all season easily trumps anything MS could throw up on thiers.

Btw, isnt that like putting a big screen TV in a mobile home? (refering to MS and thier video board)

I took this Monday and also got to see the jumbotron. I missed all of last season but I'm so glad I'll get to enjoy this season with the new additions to the stadium including that incredible jumbotron.
