Jumbotron Update

The rain and wind sucks but the SkyMonkeys will get it done no matter what. If the weather holds for us, screen tests will be happening Tue or Wed. We're doing all we can when the weather breaks. Working Sat and Sun if the weather allows to recover the schedule. It's still looking pretty good, not too far off track. I worked late today and missed some progress photos for y'all. Love you guys, thanks for all your interest, never worked for fans like you guys before. I will give my all for Tennessee today.

Good grief man...just who are you? The ghost of Robert Neyland reincarnated as a jumbotron assembler?

You are bringing tears to my eyes.

This is how the good construction workers work. I know it has sentimental value to Vol fans on here, but you guys breaking down into tears, I'm sure the Skymonkeys will tell you they're just doing their job...

Giving their all for Tennessee today is full of awesomeness. Gotta admit that...

Skymonkey and JungleBeaver,

I'm sure I speak for all of us here in VOLNATION when I say that we hope y'all keep in touch and that we will be praying for your safety and wellbeing in the future. Thanks soooo much for all the hard work and for making us feel like part of "the crew", as well as allowing each of us to feel like insiders to all the work being done.

YOU GUYS ROCK  :good!:

Thanks so much, this is truly a unique experience to be able to talk to so many fans of the program we're working for. We're really proud of what we do and to be able to hear everyone's appreciation keeps us going strong.

The wind held for us today until about 4:00, got some progress goin' on!

You guy's working Sunday?

Due to the weather forecast I decided to give everyone their first day off in a while. We'e going to hit the town tonight, I think the crane operator is going to come out so I can buy him dinner. He's the best I've ever worked with, the guy is "a smooth operator"

This has definitely been an entertaining thread! It's helped to break up some of the monotony of these last few weeks before the season starts.

But yeah, skymonkey, to echo what some others have already said, all of us here at VolNation are indebted to you and your guys for the work you're doing. Some people may just look at it as a giant screen in a football stadium, but for a program that means so much to so many people, it's much more than that. We're at an important crossroads right now, so think of what you guys are doing as your little (or, rather, HUGE :)) contribution to our future.

Thanks again for taking some time out of your busy work schedule to please the rabid fans. Cheers to you and the rest of your skymonkey brethren. :hi:

Ya'll don't need to to stop posting once the job's complete. Come around often and tell us some more stories. It's clear we've all enjoyed having you here.

Skymonkey, would you be able to get a pic with your whole crew once it's done? Watching it happen here is amazing!!!! You guys ROCK!!!!!!

Skymonkey.....can you post a pic of when you guys test it next week??? That would be tooooo sweet if you can. Love you guys....thanks for all your good work.

Skymonkey -

Will the jumbotron be on for the high school jamboree on the 14th?

Will do, we already have it planned. We're going to do it on the roof, 184' above the ground with the river and downtown in the background.
