Jumbotron Update

Awesome "action" pics posted!

I like those as much as the update pictures. Shows what it takes to put the screen up! I will definitely have more appreciation for what it took to get the screen(s) up there.

This is one of the best threads I've kept up with during my time on VN. It's so cool to see the thing go up and be able to talk to the guys that were responsible for creating such a beautiful structure.

Monkey and Beaver, you guys need to come in next Fall when Oregon comes to town. I also expect to see you guys in orange.

the sky monkeys need their own show on history or discovery
we've already got alaskan crab fishing, logging, ice road trucking, dirty jobs

im sure y'all could make it interesting

also i will want to be on the show. my nickname will be desert peacock

from my work I can see the stadium, so i'll know the day it's completed, right now it's just a shell of the old one....I wonder if there going to keep the VOLS, they better

i'm afraid you're going to be disappointed.

however, they are putting a pretty bad-a wrought iron thingy on top of the voltron with "home of the volunteers" and a power t. there's a thread with the design somewhere.

Sadly, the old VOLS sign is going away unless they decide to put it somewhere else on the stadium.

BTW I love you guys more than my Facebook friends, which goes to show how close to my heart Vol fans are. Knoxville has treated me extremely well.

We appreciate all of your and junglbeaver's hard work and dedication! Guys like you are truly salt of the earth! You will always been considered honorary members of the Volnation! :good!: :clapping: :dance2: :salute: :pepper: :rock2:

If you look back through the last few pages, we are getting daily updates and pictures form the guys installing it. We will also know the day it is done.

SkyMonkey or Junglebeaver, you guys must do video installation for more than just stadiums. I just cant imagine that there are enough programs out there purchasing thier own version of Voltron to keep you guys busy. What other kinds of displays do you install?

And thanks for working so hard to make Neyland an even MORE exciting venue. You guys are great!

Because of your undaunting bravery and your laughing in the face of fear, we no longer need our bi-focals, binoculars, portable TVs to see Layla in HD.
(I can see it from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Kingston)
Thanks to you, Ft. Sanders is the new YY8, tickets are optional and a back deck off Laurel is as good as a club seat
(Let’s just drink at the Sunsphere)
Now anyone with 20/200, a lazy eye and yes even an astigmatism will know what Ed Orgeron’s tonsils look like when the Vols give up a third and long
(So scared of Lasik)
So sell those damn tickets and crack open a fresh Bud Light, because in this economy, more money for Bud is a good thing

You got that right, Laurel ave. will have a nice view of the new Jumbotron.

btw, the drawings and renderings of the letters on the back "Home of the Volunteers" were revised and it is now going to read "Home of the Vols" The top sign looks pretty much the same as the drawings reading NEYLAND STADIUM wth a large power T in the center. Everything will be illuminated a lot better than the older VOLS cabnets where you could see when a lamp or two went out. I hear it was not an easy decision for UT to change the top away from the VOLS cabinets. Nobody likes change but take a look at what you got when we finish, I think you will like it and MY scoreboards bring good luck.

We do just about any kind of sign you can imagine, from grocery store illuminated letters to 42 location bank changeovers. We put video displays up for anyone who wants them. I did a single LED module 2' tall by 6' wide single color in a middle school cafeteria a few months ago.

Best post I've seen since I joined this board.

Thanks for that update. The V-O-L-S will be hard to see it go for most of us. It has been a staple of the stadium for a lot of us. :cray:

Looking forward to seeing the new board complete though. Maybe they can throw the V-O-L-S up on the other end.

Yeah Skymonkey, please be careful with the V-O-L-S if they come down I hope they go to somewhere or someone that will take care of them.
