Jumbotron Update

jwells, when did you take those photos? I'm amazed at the stadium progression, I was in Knoxville on Sunday night and Monday morning and walked by the stadium to check the construction out while I was picking up some gear from Tennessee Traditions. They were working at about 7:00 on Sunday night. That surprised me.

They are literally working 24/7 on the stadium. The paint very well may still be wet in the press box for the WKY game.

Even with losing capacity for these upgrades, I think they will be WELL worth it once they are done. The brick facade, the extension over the road....the new amphitheater... it is gonna look cutting edge, state of the art. I have always loved the old girl, but she was DEFINITELY looking dated. Once these are all done, Our official attendance at big games will still be up around 107k. I also wouldnt be surprised if we have some success and get back in the national spotlight like in the mid-late 90's and early 2000's, if we dont add on attendance wise in the next 5 years or so.

I still liked that giant Power T, with the starburst behind it. Hate to see it go...ESPN gameday always kept that shot in view.

Capacity will drop, but attendance figures are always higher than capacity. They count everyone who is literally in the stadium.

Sorry the quality isn't great. I didn't think anything about going past the stadium when I left the house. All I had was my phone.

At least you can see the crane and tell they are doing some work.
