I hope he eases up on handing out the fire like he likes to do. He is going to hurt somebody.

I never said that. The APR work Butch did is still underrated, IMO. It’s one of the only things he did consistently well.

But at the same time, arguing that we’d never have landed Bailey or Labruzza without Butch’s academic emphasis isn’t a great argument for that virtue. Dobbs? Sure. Two guys we’re trying to replace? Meh.

I agree that the APR work done at UT during Jones’ tenure was both great and critical for the program.

But it wasn’t Jones who did it....it was spearheaded and executed by Dr Joe Scoggin and, ultimately, the students. Lyle should’ve gotten, and did get, big kudos for hiring or helping hire and supporting Dr Scoggin, putting the correct amount of priority on the APR (he really had no choice tbh) and emphasis on it and helping follow up with the student-athletes.But let’s be clear and give the real credit to the person actually responsible for turning the whole actual academic situation around....it was Scoggin.

Over the weekend, Tennessee made a big move for 4-star linebacker Lakia Henry. The JUCO prospect had never visited a campus before, and was wowed by the attention given to him by multiple members of Tennessee’s staff. The Vols have now in the driver’s seat for the Dodge City (Kan.) product, but will have to withstand a couple more visits, as Henry is slated to visit both Nebraska and Ole Miss in the coming days. Alabama remains a wild card team to watch, too, but Henry doesn’t have a visited planned for the Tide right now.

"Ole Miss and Tennessee are at the top," Henry told the Ole Miss Spirit. It's the same right now. They're neck and neck. Tennessee was leading before I got to Ole Miss today." Henry, a native of Vidalia, Ga., is the nation's No. 1 junior college inside linebacker, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index. He holds 16 offers from Power 5 programs.

Henry arrived in Oxford late Friday night and will stay until Sunday. He and hos mother plan to check out the downtown Square Saturday night. On Friday, he visited the Nebraska Cornhuskers. "Nebraska was OK," he said. "It was decent. It was a nice place. I didn't get the feel for it like I got at Tennessee or Ole Miss, though." Henry visited Tennessee two weeks ago. He plans to return to Ole Miss for an official visit this fall. "I am definitely coming back on an official," Henry said.

Guess he’s not this weekends commitment?

I'm wondering if we're even going to get one this weekend. I think it maybe was supposed to be Crouch, but that changed since he couldn't come here.

In the twitterverse there was all this smoke about getting two and one would be huge. First one Friday or Saturday, then the big one Sunday. But there has been no juice anywhere.
